Anderton Boat Lift Half Marathon route

The Half Marathon starts and finishes underneath the iconic Victorian structure of the Anderton Boat Lift, between the River Weave and the Trent and Mersey Canal. The course takes you along trails, with a short out and back section before you complete 2 laps of a 6.4 mile route. You will pass through the beautiful Marbury Country Park on each lap, and there are a couple of challenging but manageable hills.

There will be 4 food and drink stations located on the course to keep you fueled, and marshals will be there throughout the course to support and help. Please run on the left unless otherwise advised in order to let faster runners past on the right.

Did the Half Marathon in 2018

I really enjoyed this half marathon, the autumn colours through the varied parkland and the dynamic back drop if the boat lift at the start and finish made it interesting. It is not an easy race there is a sneaky hill you have to run up twice but I am hoping to do it again this year.
