Really well organised - especially for a 'first'. Only criticism is the finish - for those of us who run more slowly, earlier finishers were on the course, making it difficult to finish - better if we could have run straight into the front of the staium, not round the back. Also thanks to local cafes/sandwich shops who were handing out water - greatly appreciated.… read more

Route description

Calling all football fans to this epic 10k race that starts and ends inside Ewood Park, home of Blackburn Rovers FC.

Runners will head out of the stadium and head towards Blackburn town centre. From there, they will complete the loop before entering the final stretch inside the stadium.

Runners will be cheered on through the finish line in front of the RFS Riverside Stand and will be greeted by music, food and entertainment in a buzzing event village. This is an event not to be missed.

This course is run on closed roads and is generally considered fast and flat, so is a perfect venue to capture that personal best.

The start of the race seemed very disorganised as therefore some of the fast runners had to make their way through the crowds Also on the way to the race it seemed the road crews didn’t know what they were meant to be doing as no cones where out at 845 and the race was to start at 9am

Well organized, seating for spectators could have been better if they had used the stand along side the finish, spectators could not see from end stand as competitors stood collecting medals etc. in front off finish line blocking spectators view. Other wise perfect.

Advertised as a flat course. Nothing could be further from the truth. Friendly well run race. I wouldn’t recommend this course for a novice.

The event was generally well organised and the course was pretty flat and not too much of a challenge. All good. I don’t think there was any need to get people there at 8:30 at the latest though. Standing around on a freezing cold morning was not great. I think this is why I ended up getting cramp. My feet were freezing. I will enter again though next year but will arrive later

Loved the atmosphere but didn’t like the middle bit of the course through rhe centre, too much weaving and a finishers t-shirt would have been good, even if we had to Pay a little extra. All in all though I loved the race and would definitely do it again a snd maybe try for a PB although time isn’t important to me personally.

I signed up for the Blackburn 10k thinking it was going to be quite a tough course but infact it was perfect, especially for a PB which I achieved with great satisfaction 45.51, well chuffed... I arrived at ewood park quite early & quickly realised how well organised it was, especially the baggage area, the volunteers helping on the day where all very helpful, so top marks to the organisers yet again... bring on Blackburn 10k 2020.....🏃‍♂️👍

Parking information not good. Event admin area on day not well signposted - had to ask several people before finding where to collect chip etc. Medal solid but wasteful - a nicely printed cardboard keepsake would be more environmentally sustainable
