Route information
The Born Survivor courses, designed by ex Royal Marines Commandos, are the perfect chance to grab your friends and test yourself to the limit of your physical and mental capacity, all in a buzzing event environment.
The flagship 10km course has 35+ obstacles that will make you laugh, cry, and leave you feeling as though you can tackle anything that life throws at you. You will face barbed wire crawls, dark tunnels, 10ft walls, monkey bars, tyre crawls and their famous 1/4 pipe challenge, fondly named The Blitz.
Those that might find the 10km a bit too daunting can tackle the 5km course, which includes most of the obstacles on the main course, with 50% of the distance but 100% of the fun, and is a perfect event for first-timers to get their feet wet (literally).
If you think you have what it takes to be an elite OCR participant, the Born Survivor Elite Squadron is the first wave to set off on event day and is open to individual athletes only. The Elite Squadron wave is all about testing your speed and performance on an empty course, competing against other elites to be the champion.

Did the race in 2019
This was my fourth year taking part in this event and it was the best so far. The course was similar to previous years but with a few excellent new obstacles. The organisation has always been good but this year, the decision to move the bar and food stands to an area overlooking the final stretch of the course was inspired and was much appreciated by spectators. This is a top-notch event, challenging but not inaccessible and loads of fun.
