The route kicks off from the home of one of the world's most renowned beers - Brewdog's state-of-the-art brewery in north Aberdeenshire. Cyclists will be taken on an incredible ride along the northeast coast of Scotland, before looping back to Brewdog HQ.
Highlights of the ride include Cruden Bay, with its breathtaking scenery and renowned golf course, the rolling fields around the village of Clola, historic Tarves and the gorgeous coastal village of Newburgh, with its amazing golden sand beach.
Afterwards, riders can enjoy a well-earned burger and the chance to try some of Brewdog's products right from the source.

Parking
There will be parking available on site at the overflow or at Ellon Park and Ride. This is both free.
By Car
The brewery is around a half an hour's drive north of Aberdeen. It is accessible via the A90 between Toll of Birness and Balmedie.
By Bus
The 67 bus towards Ellon from Aberdeen will also take you close to the start line if you get off at Meadows Sports Complex.

Event day logistics

08:00 Registration opens
09:00 Rolling start opens
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the event begins to ensure there is plenty of time to complete the registration process.
Age Requirements
All riders for the Brewdog Ride Out Sportive must be at least 18 on the day to take part or be partnered with a responsible adult
Kit
  • ID in case of an incident
  • Food and energy drinks (although there will be food and drink available at the feed stations en route)
  • Money/credit card
  • Mobile phone
  • Basic tool, ideally with a chain-splitter
  • Pump, tyre levers and spare inner tubes (we always carry a couple of spare tubes)
  • Helmet (mandatory) - if you do not have your cycle helmet then you will not be allowed to ride
  • Clothing appropriate for the weather and time of year
  • Bring sun-cream to apply if the weather is still looking warm and sunny
  • GPX device or mobile phone with maps, however there will be some printed versions of the route available at rider registration on the day. The route is also full signposted.
