FAQs
Can I enter on the day?
Yes, we will be accepting registrations on the day from 8.30am.
What happens if I enter but cannot take part?
If you let organisers know two weeks before the event (November 23rd) that you are unable to take part, then we will issue a refund. We are unable to offer refunds after that date, while totally sympathetic to illness and outside events. All monies raised from the event will be going to a chosen charity.
What happens if the race is cancelled because of bad weather?
We have organised a provisional back-up date of Sunday, December 14th at 10.15am.
What happens if you are forced to cancel the event?
All participants will be entitled to their money back. Participants will be alerted by email how to do this. However, in the spirit of the event, which is to raise money for charity - and all proceeds will go direct to them - we would hope participants would not seek a refund and donate their entry fee. Instead, with hundreds of Christmas puddings to get rid of, we will make arrangements for those puddings to be collected in time for Christmas. So you won't be left empty-handed! Those which are not claimed will be donated to a food bank.
When can we collect our event numbers?
These will be available from the registration desk beside the Bayside Cabin from 9am.
Will the event be timed?
No, because this is a non-competitive event, there will not be any official timing or places. If you are chasing a 5km personal best, then go for it, but you will need to time yourself.
What about refreshments?
There will be refreshments available in the Bayside Cabin before and after the event.
Will there be marshals along the route?
Yes, there will be marshals to keep you safe, but the route is fairly simple and straightforward.
What should I wear on the day?
Wear what you want. Be mindful that this is the coast when it can get windy and cold. But we are encouraging participants to dress up in something festive. Last year we had an array of Santa suits and Christmas puddings, we even had a Gingerbread Man/Woman. Go on - be creative!!
Can I bring a pushchair or enter with my dog?
The answer is a hesitant 'yes'. It's about common sense. If you are going to run at a fair speed with a pushchair and a dog, then no. There will be quite a few people sharing the prom with participants, and it will not be safe. But if you plan to move at a fairly moderate speed, then that will be okay. Just use your head please.
