Join us for the Derby Running Festival on Sunday 1st August 2027!

Take on a summer race day at the beautiful Elvaston Castle Country Park as the Derby Running Festival returns for its fourth year. Choose from the 5K, 10K or Half Marathon and enjoy a welcoming event that caters to runners of all abilities, whether you're chasing a personal best or simply looking for a memorable day out.

The officially measured, Run Britain/UKA licensed course follows a flat, multi-terrain route on a mixture of trail, tarmac and footpaths through the stunning Grade II listed parkland. Along the way, you'll pass some of the estate's most recognisable landmarks, including Elvaston Hall and the iconic Golden Gates, making this one of the Midlands' most scenic running events.

With clear course marking, supportive marshals and a fantastic race-day atmosphere from start to finish, the Derby Running Festival is the perfect way to kick off your August running calendar.

Whether you're taking on your first 5K, stepping up to the 10K or aiming for a Half Marathon goal, we can't wait to welcome you to Elvaston Castle Country Park this summer.

Route information

The course follows a flat multi-terrain route on a mixture of trail, tarmac and footpaths, going through the castle’s grade II listed grounds, past the iconic hall and the famous Golden Gates.

This Run Britain/UKA licensed, officially measured race is open to runners of all abilities.

CUT OFF

Please note there is a 3 hour cut off for this race due to a partial road closure.

BAGGAGE

We will have a secure marquee area located within the event village, where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number – simply tear it off and secure it to your bag. When collecting your bag after the race, just show your race number to the baggage team and they will assist you in finding it.

TOILETS

There will be portable toilets available within the event village.

REFRESHMENTS

There will be water provided on each lap of the course, and there will also be water available at the finish along with your post race goodies and medal. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead up to the event.

RESULTS

Results will be available here immediately after the race.
