Route information
Starting from the lifeguard’s beach in Eastbourne, triathletes will begin their swim portion of the race against the backdrop of the historic Eastbourne pier. Participants will then cycle through stunning scenery through the South Downs National Park along the famous roads over Beachy Head. Participants will then run along the iconic promenade to Holywell, before finishing on the Western Lawns.

Eastbourne train station is the closest train station to the start location, situated 0.7 miles away, which should take roughly 15 minutes to walk, or 5 minutes to cycle.
Parking
There are plenty of Pay & Display car parks dotted around the Eastbourne area. Please arrive early, allowing plenty of time to find a parking space in case it is busy.

Age Restrictions
There are age restrictions in place at the event which are as follows:
- TriStart - age 8
- TriStar 1 - 9-10 years
- TriStar 2 - 11-12 years
- TriStar 3 - 13-14 years
- Youth Aquathlon - 15-16 years
- Sprint Aquathlon - 15 and over
- Standard Aquathlon - 17 and over
- Sprint Triathlon and Relay - 15 and over
- Standard Triathlon and Relay- 17 and over
- 1500m Swim - 15 and over
BTF Licence
All entrants that are not BTF affiliated will be required to purchase a BTF day licence along with their entry. Licences will cost £1 for under 20s, £6 for over 20s, and £2 for swim only races.
Relay Team Entry
Teams of three may enter the relay race, with each team member completing one discipline. To enter, one team member will submit entry and make the payment on behalf of the entire team (less any BTF day licence fees needed for the additional team members). This team member will enter their own details as team member 1 and enter the email addresses of their teammates.
Once payment is processed, the other teammates will receive an email containing a link which they must follow in order to input their own personal details. At this point, any team members who are not BTF members will be asked to pay an additional £6 for their own BTF day licence.
Spectator Info
Spectators are encouraged to come along with friends and family to watch and support as athletes take on this challenge. The location next to the beach makes the Eastbourne Triathlon a great event for the whole family to enjoy, the event village will have a bar, plenty of food, ice-cream and various vendors and stalls.

Do I need to be BTF affiliated in order to participate in the Eastbourne Triathlon?
No, all athletes are welcome. Those who are not affiliated however, will have to purchase a one-day BTF licence with your entry, for the additional cost of £6 per athlete (£1 for under 20's, £2 for swim only events).
