Route information
This is a 7hr Time Challenge event which allows you full control over the distance you want to run. The minimum distance is 5km, which is part of a lap. A full lap is 4.37 miles (7km) and you can run as many or as few of these laps as you wish in the 7hr time limit which starts from the official event start time. It is 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon and 7 or over for an ultra, there is also a 50km distance available.
The course is around the beautiful river Wear with views of Durham Cathedral. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required. The course is mainly well made paths and tarmac. Road shoes are suitable all year round.

Age Requirements
All runners must be aged 18 or older on the day of the event.
Race Packs
Final race day instructions will be sent out via email 4-5 days prior to the event with full race day information. Number pick up is on the day at race registration before the start of the event.
Aid Station
There will be a fully stocked aid station located at the start/finish point of the course, meaning you will pass it after each 7k lap.
Distance Pins
There will be distance pins available for anyone who runs a half-marathon distance or more. Pins available to collect are Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km and Ultra pins. You will receive one pin on the ribbon of your medal to reflect your achievement.

Do I have to run for the full 7 hours at the GNR Training Run and Time Turner 2023?
No, you can run as much or as little as you like at this event. As along as you complete at least 5k then you will receive a finishers medal.
