About

The Royal Windsor Triathlon is one of UK's most legendary multisport challenges. It takes place in Windsor, Berkshire. the 2025 edition will take place on the 15 June 2025.
The first Royal Windsor Triathlon was created in 1991, and 34 years later is now firmly established as one of the top events in the triathlon calendar. Few triathlons can compare with the historical backdrop of Windsor Castle, the majestic River Thames, the green vista of the Long Walk and the stunning overall surroundings of Windsor.

Route information

Join us at the Royal Windsor Triathlon on 15 June 2025.
Starting with a swim in the River Thames (watch out for swans!), triathletes then ride a bike route that heads through the streets of historic Windsor, passing Windsor Castle, and out into the surrounding countryside. To complete their challenge, participants will then run into Windsor Great Park and along the spectacular Long Walk in the shadow of the iconic castle. A truly ‘royal’ route, and one that will linger in the memory. You can find out more about the route here.

Awarded BTFs ‘Event of the Year’ a remarkable seven times, this prestigious triathlon has stood the test of time with its quality delivery, picturesque location and great event village atmosphere. The event continues to go from strength to strength selling out at it's largest ever capacity in 2024. We love it, we hope you'll love it too.
Where is the event?
The Royal Windsor Triathlon has a stunning course that encompasses some fantastic sights. The historic town is situated just to the west of London.

The Royal Windsor Triathlon is one of UK's most legendary multisport challenges. It takes place in Windsor, Berkshire.
*As with any event of this nature, it may be necessary to make amends to these provisional routes, but these are usually minimal.*
Sprint Triathlon
750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run
Standard Triathlon
1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run
Each discipline will be accurately marked out with distance markers and arrows to guide you in the right direction and inform you of how far you've come. There will also be marshals stationed throughout the course for safety reasons and of course to cheer you on.

Getting to Windsor by car
Windsor is just 30 miles west of London and is easily accessible via the major motorway networks. From M3 exit at Junction 3 (Bagshot), from M4 exit at Junction 6 (Windsor), from M25 exit at Junction 13 (Egham) and from M40 exit at Junction 4 (Marlow) or Junction 2 (Beaconsfield).
Long stay car parks are located at Romney Lock, King Edward VII Avenue and Alexandra Gardens. All are cheaper than the more central (shopping) car parks and are less than a 10 minute walk to Windsor Castle for spectators.
Getting to Windsor by train
Windsor is served by two train stations, Central and Riverside. Both are situation within a few minutes walk of Windsor Castle. First Great Western operates services from London Paddington, you then need to change at Slough onto the branch line that links with Windsor & Eton Central Station.
South West Trains operates direct services from London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside Station (journey time approximately 55 minutes). Please check train times prior to travelling, to ensure you can arrive in time for the early Sunday start.

Registration and racking
The Event Village is located in Alexandra Gardens, a 5–10 minute walk from the car park. You can register and rack your bike there.
Timing chip
You'll receive your timing chip strap when you collect your pack at registration. You should attach the timing chip to your left ankle.
Security wristband
You'll receive a numbered security wristband at registration on Saturday. You must wear it on your wrist until after the race on Sunday. You'll need this wristband to remove your bike from the Transition Area.
Transition
Be prepared to show your security wristband and race numbers at all times in Transition. Transition will be busy with other racers, so be aware of your surroundings and follow marshals' instructions.
Food and drinks
There will be food vendors in the Event Village serving hot and cold food and drinks.
Bag Drop
There will be an informal bag drop at the event village where participants can leave their belongings.
