Come and join us for the return of Run Media City on Thursday 29th April 2027 and take on a fast, fun and scenic race around one of Manchester’s most iconic waterfront locations.
Starting and finishing in the Media City Piazza, the route follows a 2.5K loop through Media City UK, taking runners over the Millennium Bridge, past the Imperial War Museum, and alongside the famous ITV and BBC television studios.
With a flat route, brilliant city views and a lively race-day atmosphere, Run Media City is perfect for runners chasing a quick time, stepping into their first event or enjoying a midweek run with friends and clubmates.

Route information
Come and join us for the return of the Run Media City Series in 2027. Starting and finishing in the Media City Piazza, you will head out around a 2.5km loop that runs over the Millennium Bridge and past the Imperial War Museum along with the ITV and BBC television studios set within Media City UK.

There is no specific event parking for the event. The Media City and Lowry Outlet multistorey car parks are located nearby, we advise arriving before 6pm if you plan to use these car parks as there will likely be queues on arrival. We encourage the use of public transport with several metrolink stops nearby.

Please note there is a 2 hour cut-off on this race due to it being an evening event.

BAGGAGE
We will have a secure marquee where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach it to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff, and they will help you find your baggage.
TOILETS
There will be portable toilets available within the event village. Due to the lapped nature of the course, you will also be able to access these toilets during the race.
REFRESHMENTS
There will be a water station passed on each lap. There will also be water available at the finish along with your post race goodies and medal.
RESULTS
Results will be available here immediately after the race.
