Route information
Feel like a star as you race 5k or 10k around the heart of Media City, past the ITV and BBC television studios, chasing fame and fortune - or maybe just a personal best.
The fast and flat course is a 2.5k loop that runs over the canal and past the studios as well as the imperial war museum, a museum dedicated to exploring the impact of modern conflicts on people and society. It is a perfect course to strive for that personal best time, or just to enjoy the sites and the cheering crowd.
The 5k course will be 2 laps, and the 10k course will be 4 laps.

Get full directionsBy Train
The best and easiest way to get to Media City is to take the Metrolink, with ‘Media City’ Metrolink station located not even 100 meters from the event village. Media City can be accessed from the city center and changing at Cornbrook station, just outside the city center.
The closest train station to MediaCityUK is Salford Crescent train station, which is approximately a 10-minute journey by taxi.
By Bus
There are services from Manchester city center, Intu Trafford Centre, Hulme, Swinton and East Didsbury.
Frequent bus services from outside Salford Crescent station link it with MediaCityUK.
By Car
MediaCityUK can be found from the M60 ring road on to the M602 exiting at junction 3 signposted Salford Quays/Trafford Park. From the roundabout follow signs for Salford Quays turning right onto Broadway at the first set of Traffic lights.

Race Packs must be collected on the day of the event, before the start of your race, from registration. Please be aware that you will not receive anything in the post.
Series Pass
This series pass grants you entry to the monthly Media City races. This year RunThrough have added a Christmas 5k & 10k, along with a road closed Half Marathon to the Media City Series, to enjoy races all year round.

FAQs
Is it a clear course at the Run Media City 5k & 10k?
Yes, the course will have clear course markers as well as race marshals to guide you into the finish line, however, it is a not a closed road event so please be aware of your surroundings.
Can I wear earphones at the Run Media City 5k & 10k?
It is recommended to not use earphones as you need to pay close attention to everything around you.
Will there be refreshments at the Run Media City 5k & 10k?
There will be water provided at the 5k point of the race, and there will also be water available at the finish. RunThrough will also provide flapjacks and fruit for the race finish.
