Route information
Maverick travel to Culden Faw Estate, Oxfordshire for the latest edition of their USE Lights Dark Series. Located in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, the estate is scythed in half by the River Thames.
All three routes deliver an incredible backdrop for this already unique event. Not only is the surrounding landscape a sight to behold, but there is also an abundance of local wildlife to keep your eye open for.
Given the darkness runners will have to focus on their footing throughout. The route itself will be made obvious with reflective markers.

Maverick Race
Maverick Race is undoubtedly one of the best trail running organisers in the UK. The company was started down on the Jurassic Coast back in 2013 by Ben and Justin. Since then they’ve delivered events which are guaranteed to take you to some of the most scenic locations in the UK. However, what really separates Maverick is their strive for inclusivity in the outdoors. From 6km entry level runs to 50km ultra marathons, there really is something for everyone. Afterwards you’ll find everyone hanging around, enjoying some fresh pizza, and speaking to like minded people with a shared passion for trail running.

A really well run event with a great atmosphere. Nice touches such as music, hot food, merch and fire pits to keep warm pre-race 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

A fun event with a great atmosphere and enjoyable course. Things which would have made this even better (sorry there didn't seem to be a feedback route provided) - better clarity on the course distance - I don't know about the medium and long routes but the short route was marketed as 8km, later shown as 7km on comms then the GPX map and my watch showed 6.5km. Also great effort on the reduction of single use plastic, but shame the medal was a chunky bit of plastic!

A great event all round, just thought the organisers could of staggered the start with letting the long go first then the medium a then short distances. It was very bunched up for the first two miles. Overall a great course with lovely hills!

A great and challenging event marred by 2 key issues. Running in the dark is hard enough with concentration at it's highest trying to follow the path, avoiding obstacles etc. without the addition of our four-legged friends adding to it! Canicross should not be allowed! They should be left for day events!Coming from the events industry - the last person over the line must ALWAYS have the same experience as the first person! I was quite frankly disgusted that vendors had packed up, some had gone and the team from Maverick were packing away ped barrier! There were still a fair few people out there behind us. Very poor from a race organiser!

This was a really well organised event. Very easy to get to, with plenty of free parking. Challenging course, particularly in the dark, but really well signposted. Would definitely recommend.

This event is just nuts and so is everyone who organises it. The Maverick Race series is just so special and there is always that extra buzz you get when taking part in one of their events.

Maverick Races are just the best. My first dark/night race which was pretty epic and it was great that the event was so local.

A steady undulating course which I loved and the event was just incredibly organised and everything was so efficient. One of my favourites
