Route information
ULTRA 55
The ULTRA 55 is a 55k ultra-marathon starting in Woolwich following the Southern half of the Capital Ring all the way to Richmond-Upon-Thames.
You will traverse a multitude of terrain as you take in stunning views of London's skyline whilst embracing London's iconic scenery.
Most notably, take the extraordinary Eltham Palace, Wimbledon Common and Richmond park as you tackle London's off-the-beaten-track Ultra route.
TRAIL 25
The TRAIL 25 is a 25k route starting in Upper Norwood and finishing in Richmond-Upon Thames. Following the last half of the Southern Capital Ring, you will take in highlights such as Wimbledon Common Richmond Park, and most notably London's iconic skyline.
The view will be incredible throughout and will have you following footpaths, parks, disused railways woodlands and much more.

Parking
It is strongly advised to use public transport to access the start and finish locations. There is no event parking available at the start.
Accommodation
There are numerous hotels a short distance from the starts in both Richmond and Woolwich.

Age Requirements
Entrants must be 18 or over to enter the TRAIL 25 and 20 or over to enter the UTLRA 55.
Checkpoints
All checkpoints will have a range of drinks and cold food for participants to enjoy.

There will be three checkpoints along the route, plus the finish, details will be shared with participants prior to the event.

There will be one checkpoint along the route, plus the finish, details will be shared with all participants prior to the event.
Cut-off Times
If you do not pass the checkpoints at the correct times, you will not be permitted to continue the race.
ULTRA 55

Cut off point 1: The first cut off time will be at the second checkpoint at Upper Norwood at 12:30 (regardless of your start wave time).

Cut off point 2: The second cut off point is at the entrance to Richmond Park at 17:00.

Facilities
The start locations will have toilets available. It is recommended to come dressed ready to run, and to bring a supply of drinking water with you.
Bag Drop
There will be a bag drop and transfer service from the event startlines to the finish. The baggage transport will leave the start locations once the last participant has left.
Please note fast runners who start in early waves may beat the baggage transfer service.
Walkers
Walkers are more than welcome to take part in this event, but they will need to maintain a certain pace throughout to ensure they finish within the cut-off time:
- ULTRA 55: Average speed of 12 minutes per kilometre (19 minutes per mile) or faster.
- TRAIL 25: Average speed of 15 minutes per kilometre (24 minutes per mile) or faster.

Can I walk the Ultra London 2024?
Yes, all walkers are welcome to take part in the Ultra London, please refer to the information above to see what speed you will have to adhere to in order to complete the race in time.
Are there any road crossings or gates/stiles to negotiate at the Ultra London 2024?
Yes there will be some road crossing on the route, some quiet and some busy. It is the responsibility of all participants to ensure they travel along footpaths and not on roads, and that they cross roads at suitable and designated crossing points.
Are support crews allowed at the Ultra London 2024?
Yes, all are welcome to receive support from friends and family along the way. This support cannot extend to assisting participants to travel along the course.
Are pacers allowed at the Ultra London 2024?
No pacers are allowed at this event. However, you are welcome to the run with friends (who have also entered).
Are there prizes / awards at the Ultra London 2024?
Yes, all will receive a medal and a t-shirt to commemorate their experience. The first male and female in each distance will also receive a trophy.
Will I need a map for the Ultra London. 2024?
A map and course notes are recommended. There will be directional signs and confidence markers throughout the course. Certain parts are complex to navigation. A sports GPS navigational device is recommended if you have one, you will be able to load the GPX route file provided onto the device to follow.
What happens if I need to drop out during the Ultra London 2024?
If you need to drop out please phone event control and inform them of your decision to retire. If you have a bag yo collect you will need to make your way to the finish line. The organisers will try to help where they can although public transport may be the most suitable option. Unless you are injured or un well, please make your way to the next checkpoint and inform the event staff that you intend to drop out.
