About

The West Coast 200 is a 200-mile running adventure from Portmeirion to St Davids—and we believe it’s a world first: a 200-mile ultra held entirely on a recognised coastal path.
One continuous journey. One incredible stretch of Wales. And one very long way to go. For the full length of the course, you’ll follow the Wales Coast Path — through some of the most spectacular, remote and downright beautiful landscapes Wales has to offer.

Route information

There are easier ways to see the coast of Wales. We wouldn’t recommend them. The West Coast 200 is a 200-mile ultra marathon following the Wales Coast Path from the extraordinary village of Portmeirion to the smallest city in Britain, St Davids.
Following the Wales Coast Path from start to finish, you’ll explore rugged headlands, sweeping beaches and hidden coves along the spectacular Welsh coastline. With 27,874 feet of climbing and 120 hours to complete the journey, it’s a formidable challenge with extraordinary views to reward your effort. Checkpoints every 25 miles give you the chance to rest, recharge and refuel before heading back onto the trail.
You’ll be supported throughout with aid stations serving food and drink, sleep stations, a skilled medical team and live runner tracking. Reach St Davids and you’ll take home a unique finisher buckle, Wild Horse swag and the satisfaction of completing an extraordinary 200-mile coastal adventure.
