Half Marathons in Scotland
The Mull Half Marathon and 10k is a friendly event for all levels and abilities. Half Marathon starts at Cragnure and the 10k starts at Fishnish Road end and both finish at the Salen Hotel, Isle of Mull. Registration for both is at Craignure, by the ferry terminal.
The Islay Half Marathon started in 1986 and involves a 13 mile, 192 yard run from the village of Bowmore on the Isle of Islay out to Islay Airport and back in a circular route. The run takes place amongst some of the most beautiful scenery that you will ever see.
This superb event will be a classic, fast and flat half marathon course along the beautiful coast road to the south of Dunoon and down to Toward, passing through the idyllic west coast village village of Innellan, with community support along the route too!
Let the incredible atmosphere on the Union Street start line carry you around the 10k or half marathon course. Go from the city to sea and experience the best Aberdeen has to offer from a different perspective. And if you're quick, you can take advantage of our early bird offer available to the first 500 entrants into each distance.
Without doubt, one of the most scenic marathons in the Country. From Alnmouth Beach the route follows a scenic coastal path passing Boulmer, Craster, Dunstanburgh Castle and Low Newton Sands. It then takes you up to Long Nanny Bridge, where, after a short run on the beach, it returns to Alnmouth along the same route. A half marathon options follows the same route to Craster then returns back to Alnmouth.
The Run Day will also consist of a 10k and 2k fun run to enable or levels of fitness to take part in what is sure to be a brilliant event.
The 37th Waterside Half Marathon returns to the city on Sunday 1st September. Starting in Ebrington Square, the route will once again take runners across the river to the cityside, showcasing our parks, greenways and bridges before finishing at St Columbs Park.
The 2018 race will also host the NI & Ulster Half Marathon Championship

There is a great history behind the Loch Rannoch Marathon going back to the 1980's when it was the course of the Scottish Championships. Run Nation revived the race in 2015 and it has re-established itself on the bucket list for marathon runners in the UK.
After a hugely successful inaugural. The Half Marathon is now a permanent fixture in the Kielder Marathon Weekend. If the marathon is a stretch too far and the 10K is over all too quickly, then here is your perfect challenge. The Kielder Half Marathon will have some dedicated parking near the start line on the Dam for competitors. All kit and spectators are then taken to the finish via the usual bus service which will operate a return arrangement from the finish area. This event is deliberately timed for the end of the season when most other island races are now a distant memory. The half marathon route starts near Berneray Hostel and finishes at Lochmaddy Community Hall, right next to Hamersay House Hotel. Registration is at the start in Berneray.

A truly Highland route but without the uphills! The race starts at about 1100 feet, with the Cairngorm Mountains setting a spectacular backdrop, and finishes in Aviemore at 720 feet, having passed through the ancient Glenmore Forest, around Loch Morlich, and over the Spey River. Includes the Aviemore 10k. A mixture of good solid forest track, paths and tarmac roads.
You have the choice of a full marathon (Glenfarclas to Glenfiddich), a half-marathon (Tamdhu to Glenfiddich), a 10K (Aberlour to Glenfiddich) or a relay race (team of 4 divides up the marathon).
The route uses mainly forest tracks with some occasional short sections on minor roads and some hilly terrain.
Jedburgh Running Festival returns to the Borders on 29-30 October, featuring an ultra, half marathon, 10k and Canicross 7.5K. The Three Peaks Ultra option is already sold out, but you can still enter the half marathon, 10K, or Canicross event.
