The Chicago Cinco de Miler run is an annual 5 mile race that happens around May 5th each year. The race, which is billed as Chicago's only stand alone 5 miler, celebrates Mexico's colorful culture, and is half fun run/half "see how fast you can go" road race.

What's included
Keep the fiesta going, all Cinco de Miler finishers will receive a medal! This year's medal includes a bold and festive pattern, and of course the essential bottle opener!
Course Amenities
- There will be plenty of aid stations on course stocked with water and Nuun sports drink.
- In case of emergency, we have medical personnel standing by and a medical tent at the finish line.
- For your convenience, there will be port-a-potties are located at the start/finish area and at the aid stations.
- Leave bag at Gear check and is available to all registrants at the race - Gear check 7:30am - 11:00am
Post Race Party
- After you cross the finish line, join us in the fiesta where Breakfast Tacos, Horchata, Mexican sweets and your first beer is on us!
- Enjoy a Revolution Brewing beer (21 & older only for the beer) or Jarritos (non-alcoholic option), and take a turn at the carnival games! Continue your Cinco de Mayo celebration and dance the day away to live mariachi bands
- Extra Food and Beer tickets can be purchased online

Get full directionsWe highly encourage carpooling or biking to the event. There will be thousands of participants, volunteers, and spectators on site race morning. Please plan for heavy traffic and allow ample time to check your gear and get into your corral.
There will be limited street parking available at Montrose Harbor on race morning, as well as spots in the pay and display lots at Montrose Harbor Drive and Wilson Avenue in the park.

- Corrals open at 7:45am and close at 8:25am
- Recommended Arrival Time 7:30am
- Race start time: 8:30am
- Awards ceremony: 10:00am
Course Rules
- We love our walkers. One favor: we ask that they can hold a 15 minute per mile pace.
- There is no age minimum or maximum
- Unfortunately no, baby carriers or strollers of any sort are not allowed on the course.
- Wheelchair athletes are permitted on a case-by-case basis, based on your wheelchair type and the city’s course.
- All participant entries are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Sorry, no dogs are allowed on the course.
- Bikes and rollerblades are not allowed on the course.
Packet Pick Up
- Collect race day bib and goodie bag
- Packet mailing alternative option to packet pick up.
- Failure to get packet before race is not an issue with bibs handed out on race day just in case.

Corral FAQWhat do you mean by Race Pace?
Your race pace is how many minutes it takes you to run or walk one mile. Say it takes you ten minutes to run one mile. That means that your race pace is 10 minutes per mile.
How can I find my corral assignment?
You can confirm your Start Corral assignment approximately ten days prior to that event on the Your Races page in your RAM Racing account. Your Start Corral will be listed next to your name, city, state, and age division. Start corral assignments will also be sent in a Runner Info email approximately ten days prior to the event.
What is a Preferred Start Corral?
Preferred Start Corrals are the first corrals to start each race, and are open only to those participants who meet specific criteria. Please see below for more information about Preferred Corrals and how to apply!
