Volunteers are integral and crucial elements in making our events viable. Volunteer tasks include, among others: providing water and food, keeping runners on course, cheering runners on, keeping spirits up and making the race safer for everyone! We guarantee a great time and the time spent will be worthwhile.

You don’t have to be a triathlete or runner volunteer at the event. If you have simple words of encouragement and are able to help direct runners or hand out water, you are valuable to us!

In exchange you’ll get goodies and refreshments, and more importantly, you will be rewarded with the pride in knowing you helped to make the event happen, and that everyone finished because of the help you offered.

If you’d like to volunteer or need more information, please contact us at 310.821.7898 or send an email to [email protected]!

How does the bike part work? Where do I put my bike while I'm swimming? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm a first timer!

    Steph E
Hi there. Thanks for getting in touch and it is definitely not a dumb question. There are a lot of first timers who take part in this event and is recognised as one of the best for beginners. The Triathlon Race is a reverse triathlon and therefore it will go in this order Run/Bike/Swim. From the run you will head into the Transition Area to get on your bike and after the bike you will put your bike back in the transition area and then run down to the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center, jump in, and swim (3) laps in the pool. For any further enquiries please contact our customer support team and they will help you out - [email protected] Many thanks! :)

I am 68, and travel to Pasadena frequently to visit. This was my first Triathlon so I choose a great course and venue. Recommend this Sprint Triathlon to old and new alike . Check it out!

I have a history with the rose bowl from an early age, school at chandler, going to UCLA games and just living in the neighborhood for 25yrs. Now living in San Diego, 2016 I did my first reverse tri at the rose bowl and was hooked on the beauty of the location, the simple course set up and the competitive environment. We turned it into a fun family getaway. Its a terrific way to start off the tri season and guage your productivity in the off season. I'll be back in 2020!

I love this tri! I live in S.D. and this is becoming my first "away" race of the tri season. Last year was my first year..and the organization..great volunteers..and fun yet challenging course had me come back again with 5 of my friends to experience. The run is fast and mostly flat..the bike..challenging to kerp a pace at the onset.. then you fly! The swim..i call "swim combat" and furious! A great plaxe for beginners..or experienced age groupers like me! This year I won my AG and was so happy! I came to do well..have fun with friends..and visit Pasedena! My only "complaint" is for out of towners..i wish packet pick up could be moved back to the Friday before the race. Race day is stressful enough without having to fool around at o dark thirty in a registration line..or have a mail back option. Otherwise..loved it! I will be back next year!

Great course and good beginner/season starter for all levels ! Organization could have been a bit better but it was not horrible !! Definitely recommend it to all who want to try to tri ....
