Ride Santa Barbara 100

The 100 mile course is one of the most challenging and beautiful 100 miles of riding you may ever do.
Starting along the idyllic palm lined beaches of the Santa Barbara water front, you’ll ride through some of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the country before turning inland to experience the back roads and rolling foothills by citrus and avocado orchards and some of the most challenging climbs in southern California, including the famous “Gibraltar Challenge”, a 7 mile time trial up Gibraltar Road with 3000ft of altitude gain and a mountain top finish.

Many riders have asked for a course that includes the famous Gibraltar time trial but is less than 100 miles, so we’ve created the all new 100k + Gibraltar course just for you!
Starting along the idyllic palm lined beaches of the Santa Barbara water front, you’ll ride through some of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the country before turning inland to experience the back roads and rolling foothills lined with citrus and avocado orchards. Near mile 25, you’ll begin the famous “Gibraltar Challenge”, a 7-mile time trial up Gibraltar Road with 3,000ft of altitude gain and a mountain top finish. Once you’ve conquered Gibraltar, the course continues on to top out at La Cumbre Peak (elevation 4,000ft) then continues along East Camino Cielo before an exhilarating descent down Painted Cave and Old San Marcos roads. The course finishes with a gorgeous tour of exclusive Hope Ranch, then back to the finish line at Leadbetter Beach. There are 4 aid stations on the 100k + Gibraltar route. With over 7,000 feet of total altitude gain and technical descents, this course is not for the beginner cyclist.

The 100 km course is approximately 62 miles of some of the most spectacular riding Santa Barbara has to offer.
Starting along the idyllic palm lined beaches of the Santa Barbara water front, you’ll ride through some of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the country before turning inland to experience the back roads and rolling foothills by citrus and avocado orchards and some moderately challenging climbs, including Toro Canyon and Ladera Road. The course winds through foothills of Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Montecito and the flatlands of Goleta. The course finishes with a gorgeous tour of exclusive Hope Ranch, then back to the finish line at Leadbetter Beach. There are 4 aid stations on the 100k route. With a total altitude gain of 4,000 feet, this course is suitable for an intermediate to experienced cyclist.

The 34 mile course gives the riders a taste of what Santa Barbara cycling has to offer.

The course finishes with a gorgeous tour of exclusive Hope Ranch, then back to the finish line at Leadbetter Beach. There are 2 aid stations on the 34 mile route. With a total altitude gain of 2,200 feet, this course is suitable for a beginner to intermediate cyclist.
