For 36 grand years, the Runnin' of the Green has been kicking off the "unofficial" running season with Irish cheer and a touch of luck. Be a part of the tradition and join us for a legendary Irish “Marathon” in two festive distances: the Lucky 7K and the Leprechaun Leap 2-Mile Run/Walk.
Feeling the luck o' the Irish? Lace-up and chase the rainbow in Denver’s favorite Irish-themed run! Whether you’re aiming to break your best time or simply out to enjoy the post-race craic (that’s Irish for “fun,” mind you!), this event is where you’ll find the best of both worlds: serious Irish charm and seriously good times. Choose between a 7k or 2 mile run around Washington Park and enjoy the Irish festivities along the way. This year the 2 mile will also be timed, with some awesome awards up for grabs.

Do I have to be a good runner to take part in Runnin' on the Green?
Not at all, you are welcome to run or walk these courses. Come for a serious race or just come to celebrate St Patrick's Day. Whatever your motivation, this will be a fantastic day.
Where is the post-race fun?
Be sure to stick around for Denver's ROTG Irish Festival at Washington Park. Enjoy Live Irish Music, Irish Dancers, Food, Beer (21yrs and up), and shenanigans!
Are dogs & baby strollers welcome at Runnin' of the Green?
Yes, we are K9 friendly to all well mannered, friendly, and leashed dogs. Strollers are more than welcome. Children pushed in strollers do not need to be registered.
