For a race with music in its name, there wasnt nearly enough music. I was disappointed. Good course and spectators though. 

Sarasota has beautiful views no one can deny with the sunrise coming up over the Ringling bridge it makes that challenge more bearable. I wish the course had corrals. I may have just shown up too late but it took me many miles of passing people and I wish I would have started out more in the front to avoid the walkers. I couldnt believe how many people walked this race and so early on. There were fairly frequent water stops. There was one time it seems down orange avenue miles like 6-9 I wish I had at least one more water stop.  The bands were great, some cute kid bands. The sign for the half marathon/ 10K split was not very evident and even though I had a rough idea of the course I wish there was someone pointing which way to go or a bigger sign. The race still needs organization, but overall I had a great time and Im doing it again next year! :)

Too many emails! It got annoying and I had to unsubscribe. Its not necessary to send out multiple emails every day! As a half marathon, it would have been nice to have energy supplements (sports beans, gu gel, etc.) at least once along the course. The course is beautiful!

Don't go out too fast and burn out on the bridge. I passed about 100 folks after mile 6 who all sprinted past me early on.

Great race! Have run it every year and plan to be back next year. But missed running thru the gardens this year.

This race was so much fun! Ill be back next year for sure!

I ended up pacing the 2-hour group and had a great time doing so, The course had multiple out and backs, but I didn't mind it at all do to the scenery changes and wonderful aid-station helpers & spectators. To top it off, the after party was a lot of fun with great music and my favorits... food & beer :) 

One of the best races I have done, and I will be back (and it is not only because I got a new PB on the course).The only concern I had, and it didn't affect me personally, was that I noticed a lot fo the half marathon runners missing the turnaround point. Maybe someone needs to be posted there to make sure they turn. As it was, the 10K runners were stopping people before they got too far.

I loved the 10K course. It was challenging going over the Ringling Bridge twice, but you cant beat the views. 

My worst race but nothing to do with organization. Event was great, aside from the food not being very good. Volunteers were great! Its my favorite race to do every year!

Race was excellent as always - tons of bands and fun along the course!only thing I'd change is to have more vegan-options after the race-- I thought the options were better for the previous brunches. 

The race is usually well organized, but this year was the best and the most smooth experience.  Last year there were cars persisting on the Ringling Bride, which was concerning.  This year, no issues.  Great job!  You exceeded my expectations.  The 10K is appealing, I have some friends I haven't been able to convince to do the 1/2 marathon and they are going to sign up next year.  The bands were great, the bongo drums and marching band are my absolute favorite!

First time running this race and I will definitely be back. Great course, amazing atmosphere and tons of fun!

The course is very nice.  It has some spectacular views.  I love going over the bridge at sunrise.  The weather always seems to be perfect.  Perfect running/walking weather.  I like that there is food afterwards, although this year I didn't get any fruit.  Fruit is the best after a run.  My daughter and I got her boyfriend to complete his first half marathon.  This one is also perfect for anyones inaugural half.  

My hometown and my favorite half.  I started a little too fast, and because the bridge is early on, got a bit winded on the second time over slowing my pace a tad.  Id advise to start at a slower, steady pace until after the bridge, then kick into higher gear as the rest is flat.  Super entertainment, the reverb under the bridge from the DJ was epic, and the course turning through Cherokee Park is perfection.  Definitely a PR-able race if trained properly and paced well.  Did miss running through Selby Gardens this year, and the breakfast was better in years past, but still a super fun run.  If youre not from the area, should be a destination run absolutely.  Kicks the butt if our citys other half.  I would suggest the 10K at a different time if they are on a lot of the same course.  Running around walkers at the end of a half is a bit weird.

Excellent event! Adequate water stations and fun crowds/bands along the route! 

I didn't like the way the course was set up with runners coming back at you with some confusion to which direction they were running caused some runners to run into one another.

This was my first half marathon, and I loved every single moment! The anticipation was exciting, and running it in 2: 02 was a great surprise. Everything about the race was great except for the food afterwards, as a fit healthy runner, I was disappointed in the choice of food. I choose not to eat biscuits and gravy and the sausages were dried up and nasty. Bananas were extremely green and unripe.

Great overall race - course is scenic and safe, bands throughout add to the experience and the overall organization is outstanding.

Course is great, beautiful views & plenty of water/aid stations. A little disappointed that the course missed Selby Gardens this year. Already signed up for 2019 & hoping to run through Selby again.

This was my first time doing this race. I loved it! The bands, the music, so appreciated! It also helped that the weather was perfect. My only issue was with parking. Having done other races in downtown Sarasota, I wanted to avoid the long traffic lines by parking at the Sarasota Military Academy. Normally, the 4-5 block walk is not an issue, however, walking down 10th Street in the dark was nerve wracking since its on the edge of a sketchy area of town. Maybe have more volunteers visible on the walk to make people feel safer would be nice. Maybe 6 cars parked in that lot so there wasnt much foot traffic. Other than feeling a little nervous walking by myself, I thoroughly enjoyed the race, especially all the cheering volunteers all over the course. Great job!

I belong to my local running club and had heard great things about the race course, shirt, post race party! But apparently this year a lot of things changed shirt designs, post race food vendor, and course! So a little disappointed because I had expected a lot more than what I got based on past reviews! However love the atmosphere so will definitely do it again! 

Starting corrals are awful. No entrance points at paces, so you have to enter in the back and claw your way through the crowd to get to your pace group.

The start was more crowded then I expected -- I was not able to get to the post for my pace. The course had multiple turn arounds. Other than that it was great. Music was great. 

Great race. However starting line could use some work. Starting corrals are jammed packed and they could use some entrances so faster runners dont need to fight their way to the start line. Felt like we were packed in like sardines. Also, just having Corona as post run party beer was a HUGE disappointment. 

The event was well organized, packet pick up was pretty flawless, and the volunteers were amazing and so much fun. The start of the race was a little dicey with two large events with an identical shot gun and very narrow streets. I witnessed several people tripping over each other. Once it thinned out, great run. I do miss running through Selby Gardens as its such a neat route to have the opportunity to run through it. As far as swag, the medals were awesome as usual. The shirts I felt were not that attractive and seemed cheap compared to any of the previous years race. (I have run since the inaugural race) The food at the finish was not as good as previous years as well. This was a disappointment as myself and Im certain many others were hungry after the race. Overall, a really fun experience, and Ill be back again next year. The charity work alone is worth it!
