The 23rd Annual Mud Mountain 5K Classic and Mile Fun Run is a unique opportunity for runners of all ages and abilities to get off the roads and pavement and run on a true cross country course, all while helping the Edwardsville Cross Country and Track and Booster Club raise funds for the seasons.
Anyone can do a 5K, but can you do a 5K while eating donuts? This race will test your running abilites as well as your capability to consume donuts. There will be three donut stations along the route where runners will be given a chance to eat one donut at each one. For each donut eaten there will be one minute deducted from the runner's overall time. Runners will have to decide if eating the delicious donut is worth the time deduction. Eating donuts is not mandatory, but could be motivation to finish the race. The race will start and end next to the Collisville Police Department. Costumes and donut eating are encouraged, but are not mandatory.

Mike Horner lived in Edison Park with his wife, Heather Dunne and their daughter, Mary Helen. When Mike was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in December 2015, his family and friends were blindsided. How could someone so healthy be so sick? Mike lost his battle with pancreatic cancer shortly after Mary Helens first birthday, 9 months after his diagnosis, and minutes before his 46th birthday. Please join the Horner, Dunne, Balducci, and Pietryla families as they partner with Project Purple to host the first 5K Horner Hustle Fun Run/Walk in Park Ridge, IL, raising funds for early detection and, ultimately, a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Skokie's Backlot Dash 5K and Kid's Run will be held in Downtown Skokie (in and around the grounds of Skokie's Backlot Bash) and will include a half mile kids run.
The race will begin and end at St. Rose Catholic Church located at 603 S. Main St., Wilmington, IL. All runners will be timed as they make their way through the friendly neighborhood streets of Wilmington. All racing surfaces are both paved roads and flat surfaces. This course is mainly flat and fast!
