From the organiser

Wokingham Half Marathon has been producing super fast times since 1984, it's the areas traditional first post Christmas Half Marathon. Starting and finishing at Cantley Park the race runs on fast, flat rural roads and each year produces outstanding performances with course records of 1.11.09 (Liz Yelling) and 1.03.14 (Phil Wicks).

Wokingham Half Marathon is run on closed roads under UK Athletics rules. The route is equally suitable for those looking to complete their first half marathon as it is to established club runners seeking a new PB. Wokingham Half also hosts a very competitive affiliated club team competition with four to score in both women's and men's categories.

Wokingham Half Marathon supports many local good causes and community groups and in turn is supported by them with their volunteers helping to marshal the route, manage the water stations and look after the race village.

My first half marathon and it was great fun.Organised brilliantly, well represented and everyone was incredibly friendly.I will definitely be returning next year.

Lovely flat route, perfect for trying to push yourself a little faster. Marshalls very supportive and friendly only slight criticism was the crowded bottle neck start.
  • Did the Half Marathon in 2019

First Half Marathon for 15 years, the pacing runner for 2:20 was awesome........ talking to us all the way and providing updates and timings at each mile, also had advice for tackling the inclines and shaking things out on the descents. Only criticism is that this feel more like a serious athletic rather than fun event. I finished in 2:18 (which I was pleased with) but things appeared to be winding down in terms of support and amenities. Next stop Reading Half :-)

  • Did the Half Marathon in 2019

Well organised race with an entertaining pre-match PA address and more supporters out on the country lanes than I expected.

Was my 1st half and I loved it. Was a bit hillier than I thought which was tougher as hot! However where can I get my time? Not on the website! Please advise

Great course, lots of good competition. Well marked and marshalled. Lots of support on route.Leave plenty of time for bag drop long queue, bag tags in advance would have helped.Free tea at finish was a nice touch. Recommend for all abilities.

Well organised event and thoroughly enjoyed with a fairly flat course good pb potential start line could be wider but that's a tiny thing
  • Did the Half Marathon in 2019

Its my fifth time running the Wokingham half marathon but this is definitely been the best organised one so far (especially with regard to the excellent weather). The course is fast But is not flat. Its quite well supported for a small race. Its also generally considered a good place to get a PB although I would caution new runners to this one but the last 3 miles are broadly uphill and it can take a toll after a hard first 10 miles. Definitely recommended!
