I thoroughly enjoyed this run, the music along the way was brilliant. The choir made me a bit emotional. Great track, brilliant to be able to run around London, it was a great crowd and group of runners. The organisers were full of encouragement, I would definitely do this again and encourage anyone else to do it.… read more

The pre race organisation was terrible. I along with many other runners, was told to go to sign in at bagging area, which meant having to walk a few kilometres from the race start to the bagging area, just to be told that I didn't have to sign in! The lack of toilets near the start meant I was desperate to go toilet during the run itself and went during the run! The woman on the microphone was very annoying to say the least, repetitive and exaggerated her excitement, to the degree that she called a man's name out and said he looked too serious for her liking! If she had singled me out like that I would have been mortified! There was no social distancing, as it was just not possible! We waited far too long to start the run, I lost focused and got fed up! The emphasis was on mental health in this run as stated many times by the people on their microphones, I'm sure many runners like me felt the organisation was detrimental to mental health! I felt mentally and physically drained before the run had even started! I don't recommend this run! The Vitality race was much better, in organisation and in the enjoyment of the run itself! I won't be doing the ASICS race again! I was glad to go home! … read more

Route description
Route description

This is a flat, fast route where you can make the most of competing on a completely closed course. This is a prime opportunity to hunt down a PB if you're after one.

Participants will head off down Picadilly, before looping north up Regents Street. Through Pall Mall, you'll run past St James's Palace, then heading east Towards Trafalgar Square. A beautiful stretch along the river at Embankment culminates at Westminster Bridge, and you'll finish off the race down Whitehall, after looping around Parliament Square.

As you race along the course there will be a variety of music every 450m ranging from reggae/funk to disco.

The race is amazing, and the course is great but the t-shirt collection this year was appalling and needs to be resolved in 2020, it tarnished an otherwise great day.

Fantastic organisation and a wonderful route around Central London. A decent wave system means you can chase a time and plenty of pacers on hand. Only minor negative is T-Shirt collection was a pain.

This was my 2nd year of participating in this race. As before the organisation was brilliant, with start waves allowing the route to not be too crowded. With the warm weather the mist sprays were appreciated. The only niggle was to get your finisher T-shirt you had to get across racers path to get to the square.

It was well organised other than the collection of the tee-shirt. It took far too long and also it felt cold as we were static for considerable time after the race. Ideally one would be warming down.Other than that very enjoyable.

These London events are amazing & always well supported. Great to hear you name being called out along the way to give you that extra boost when you need it. Great having staggered starts so even if you get stuck at the back of the pack at the beginning, still easy to work your way thru the crowds. Plus, great t-shirt & medal

It was a bit crazy to have finishers cross the route to collect their shirts then cross again to collect their bags. This must have been particularly disheartening for the slower runners who need the most encouragement.

Really nice route and luckily quite shaded in the sun. I was lucky enough to finish quickly to not have to queue for tshirt but is saw HUGE queues later. Also other people who had finished the race running over the course when others were still running which is poor sportsmanship.

ASICS London 10K was a very enjoyable race. Well organised and a great course that took in some of London’s best landmarks. The only 2 issues I could see were a small number of toilets in Green park which resulted in very long queues and the other is cardboard cups at the water stations. I am all for helping the environment but trying to drink from a cup while running is almost impossible without stopping. Obviously this will be an ongoing thing until more sustainable options become available. Other than those small issues it was a great race and already looking forward too next year.

To me arguably the best 10 k race you can do in London, the course is unreal, the organisation is superb and the course is lined with people cheering on. In my view you couldnt pick a better 10 km to participate in.

This is a great race for anyone looking for atmosphere and an epic course. The route takes you through central London and you see all the sites, particularly going over Westminster bridge near the end where you're right by the London Eye. There are lots of spectators cheering you on and bands seemingly at every turn - I really enjoyed this race. There are a lot of people that do it though - so get there early to avoid queueing at bagdrop. It took a while to set off from the pens, but that's to be expected I suppose, the people on the mic while you were waiting were great so it wasn't too bad. Well worth doing, absolutely 5* race.
