A great event with a huge crowd and some phenomenal sightseeing. The Coventry Half, 5k and Wheelchair 2.5 race is one of the classics on the running calendar. There truly is something here for everyone so get down to the starting line and crush that PB.

Route information
This classic course takes runners past some of the most historic landmarks in the city, out through the country lanes before leading runners right back down towards Coventry Cathedral.
A beautiful course for all participants. Whether starting with a brief 5k run or going whole-hog with the Half Marathon you are bound to enjoy this race.
Coventry Cathedral will provide a stunning backdrop as you cross the finish line and for celebratory pictures afterwards.

By Train
Coventry Railway Station in Station Square is approximately 20 minute's walk to the Race Village. Check arrival times if you choose to come by train.
By Car
  • From Birmingham: Use the A45 and A4114
  • From the North West or M6: From M6 Junction 4 take the A446 south and then A45 and A4114 From M6 Junction 3 take the A444 south From M6 Junction 2 take the A4600
  • From the South West (M5) or M42: Exit M42 at Junction 6 and take the A45 and then A4114
  • From the M40: Exit at Junction 15 and take the A46 north
  • From the South/M1: Exit M1 at Junction 17 and use the M45 and A45
  • From the North/M1: Exit M1 at Junction 21 and use the M69 and A46
Follow signs for Coventry City Centre; the Race Village is in University Square, next to Coventry Cathedral.
Parking and Road Closures
There are many car parks in Coventry city centre, the vast majority of which are within a 5 – 10 minute walk of the Race Village, by the Cathedral.
Please note that due to road closures access to White friars Car Park and Grove Street Car Park will be severely restricted so you are advised to avoid these.
All of the car parks above are within a 5-15 minute walk of the Race Village. Drop off and pick up point White Street Coach Park, CV1 4TX Use Ring Road Junction 1 and follow the signs for the drop-off point.
Event day logistics
07:30 Event Village (University Square), Customer Services (The Hub) and Bag Drop (Square One) all open
08:00 Start Assembly (Gosford St) opens to Half Marathon runners
08:30 Half Marathon starts and start assembly opens to 5k runners
08:48 2.5k wheelchair race starts
08:50 5k starts
Race Packs
If you have received your race number in the post, please arrive in University Square race ready with your number attached to the front of your running top. There is no need to register.
If you have not received your race number in the post, head to Customer Services in The Hub to pick one up.
Start Line
There will be a series of entry gates based on estimated times for the run with the fastest runners positioned towards the front. Maintaining social distancing in the assembly area will be difficult but there is plenty of space at the rear of the assembly area if you prefer.
Please bear in mind that your time does not start until you have crossed over the start line.
Finish Line
Please do not stop when you have crossed the finish line. Continue forward to pick up your medal, T-shirt, and bottle of water before dispersing into and away from University Square.
Bag Drop
There is a bag drop facility available for participants to use, however it is recommended to leave your belongings with your support. If you do use the bag drop facility, please ensure that you put your belongings in a bag with your race number clearly visible.
Covid-19
It is strongly encouraged to take a lateral flow test in the 24 hours before attending the event.
This year there will not be a mass warm up and the flow of runners across the start line will be controlled to ensure that runners have more space on the course.

Thousands of spectators turn up for this event and it makes for an incredible atmosphere so drag your friends and family to Coventry, or better yet - sign them up.

Can I resell my Coventry Half Marathon ticket?
No, your race number is individual to you and cannot be resold or transferred. You must wear it clearly on the front of your shirt and the emergency information must be filled out.

Yes, these races are chip timed and they are fixed to your race number so please ensure you attach your race number to the front of your shirt.

Can I wear headphones at the Coventry Festival of Running?
Technically yes, but you are encouraged not to wear them on the day because there will be thousands of people around you and you should be aware of your surroundings.
