About
This is an on road, off road popular 2 lap course Garmin measured set in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside starting & finishing from Desborough's own tourist attraction at the West Lodge Rural Centre.
One steady rise makes it slightly undulating but still a quick course and every chance for a PB. Hog roast and beer for after, vegetarians catered for, with an amazing goody bag including a bottle of wine, worth the entry alone!
Sure to be an entertaining evening!

Route information
The start/finish area is situated to the rear of registration and the Farm Park.
We measured the course with 3 separate Garmin watches taking the average of the 3 to make this a Garmin measured course.
There is an out lap of 0.9km before entering Lap 1.
Please be aware this is a multi-terrain course and will have the pitfalls of one. It is mostly flat but there are one or two ruts in the ground with a ramp at approximately 0.85km from the start and narrow sections. These will be well marked so you should see these in advance.
You then pass through the West Lodge Rural Centre grounds and through the beautiful Desborough countryside onto traffic free road. Turn right heading towards Desborough for 0.8 miles then turn right up Back Lane for a further 0.3 miles then right into the driveway of West Lodge.
The 5km and water station will be at this point and then you take the right filter heading on to lap2.
The final 400 metre section is also divided at this point and marshals will point you left towards the finish.
In the event of a warm evening, extra water will then be available at the opposite end of the course.

Get full directionsWest Lodge Rural Centre is well signposted from all directions, just follow the official brown road side information signs.
If you are coming form further away then the postcode is NN14 2SH on Back Lane, Desborough.
If you are arriving from the south take Junction 3 A14/A6 heading towards Market Harborough for 2 miles to a roundabout. Take the 2nd exit straight for 0.5 miles to another roundabout. At this point take the 2nd exit turning right signposted Desborough and Rothwell. Proceed 1 mile to another roundabout and take the 1st exit turning left, proceed 0.3 mile and take the 1st turn right. West Lodge is 0.3 mile on the left.
If you are arriving from the east then head towards Corby on the A43. Go towards Corby town centre passing Tesco, then turn left at the KFC/Esso Garage and proceed on the A6014 passing 4 roundabouts and Morrisons supermarket before arriving at the A6003 roundabout. Take the 3rd exit (Desborough/Rothwell) and then take an immeadiate right signposted Pipewell and Desborough. Proceed for 2.5miles passing through the village of Pipewell before arriving at Desborough. West Lodge is signposted right just before you enter the town.
