Join us at Elder Park in Glasgow’s West End for a day of flat, fast running around one of the city’s historic green spaces.

If you’re looking for a course where you can push the pace and chase a new personal best, this is one to have on your calendar. With smooth paths, minimal elevation and a fast, flowing route around the park, Elder Park offers ideal conditions for runners looking to put their training to the test.

Located in Govan, just west of Glasgow city centre, Elder Park brings running into the heart of the local community. Its open green spaces and compact layout create a fantastic setting for race day, with plenty of opportunities for friends, family and spectators to cheer runners on throughout.

But it’s not all about chasing times. Whether you’re entering your first race, building towards a bigger challenge or simply getting out for a run with friends, everyone is welcome.

As always, expect chip timing, friendly marshals, free race photography, a bespoke finisher medal, post-race goodies and the welcoming atmosphere that comes with every Up and Running Events race day.

Route information

The Elder Park course follows a flat and fast 2.5km loop around one of Glasgow’s historic parks, making it an ideal location for runners looking to chase a personal best.

With smooth paths, minimal elevation and long, flowing sections, the route is designed for fast, consistent running. The compact layout also creates a great atmosphere, with runners regularly passing through the park and plenty of opportunities for spectators to offer support.

The 5K completes two laps, while the 10K completes four laps of the course. Whether you’re chasing a new PB or taking on your first running event, Elder Park offers an accessible and enjoyable route for runners of all abilities.

The course will be fully marked with kilometre markers, directional arrows and friendly marshals throughout.

Subway: The closest stations are Govan or Partick. Govan station connects directly to central Glasgow.

Buses: Several services (including McGill's Buses 3, X19, and 34) stop nearby at Govan Bus Station and on Govan Road.

Trains: The ScotRail service connects to Partick Station, where you can easily transfer to the Subway or connecting buses.

Join us for an afternoon of running at Elder Park, with both the 5K and 10K starting at 2:00pm.

Race Start Times

* 5K: 2:00pm

* 10K: 2:00pm

Age Requirements

* 5K: Runners must be aged 11 or older on race day.

* 10K: Runners must be aged 15 or older on race day.

Race Packs & Registration

All runners must collect their race packs from Race HQ on the day of the event. We recommend arriving in plenty of time to collect your race number, get organised and prepare for the 2:00pm start.

Bag Drop

A bag drop facility will be available beside registration at Race HQ, allowing runners to leave their belongings while taking part.

Finish Line

After completing your race, you’ll receive your bespoke finisher medal and post-race goodies.

Race Photography

Our photographers will be positioned around the course and at the finish line, with all race photography available free of charge after the event.

Full race-day information, including registration opening times, course maps and arrival instructions, will be emailed to all participants ahead of race day.
