About
Two brand new Ultras for the Race Harborough calendar, the 100k & 50k Foxton Hound Ultras take runners on a journey through the beautiful countryside and villages that surround Market Harborough as they traverse the Harborough Round long distance footpath through Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. The courses have some fantastic views, as well as places of historical and cultural interest, including Houghton on the Hill, West Haddon, Coton and Stoke Albany as well as visiting Foxton Locks and the Naseby Battle Field. Both races are great challenges for seasoned ultra runners, as well as providing a great stepping stone for those looking to go beyond marathon distance, 50k or 50 miles towards longer distances in the future.

FAQs
What happens if I am not going to make the cut-off time at the Foxton Hound Ultra?
The cut-off times are there to ensure your safety and that of the volunteers out on the course. If you do not make the cut-off at a checkpoint you will be withdrawn from the race and asked to return your timing chip. If you do not have a way of returning to the finish, we will provide a sweeper vehicle to ensure you are able to get back to Marston Lodge.
Is the course difficult at the Foxton Hound Ultra?
This is a hefty course, with some tricky climbs and elevation gain. However, it is a good stepping stone for those wanting to increase their mileage.
Is there a minimum qualification standard required in order to enter this event?
No, we do not ask for evidence of a qualifying race to have been completed before entry. However, please be aware that 100k is not a distance to enter on a whim and we expect that participants will have actively trained for the event.
How many aid stations are there on the route?
There are 7 fairly-evenly spaced aid stations on the 100k route, 3 on the 50k route, which will each have on offer water, electrolytes and a selection of food.
Is the course marked?
The route follows a number of long distance footpaths, including; The Jurassic Way, The Leicestershire Round, The Macmillan Way, The Midshires Way, The Richard the Third Trail, and The Uppingham Round. There will be a mapbook available but we will also do our best to make sure you stay on track!
