Terrain Trail
The race will start at the picturesque Shuttleworth Estate following private trails around the grounds. Then the route will join the amazing Greensand Ridge Walk which will take you through Warden Great Wood to the first checkpoint.
Runners will then complete an anti-clockwise loop passing through Old Warden, Haynes, Clophill, Chicksands, Shefford and Broom.
The terrain and surrounding countryside are varied, eye-catching and undulating throughout. This makes the course extremely runable and a great choice for anyone aiming to complete their first ultra. There are a total of 3 aid stations along the route, two of which have toilets.
This race will be fully marked, with orange arrow markers and ribbons. There will be several marshals along the route to help along busier sections. All runners must carry a digital version of the route, either on a watch or phone, just in case you find yourself off course.
Difficulty
Many runners use this race to attempt their first ultra marathon, as the Greensand Country route is considered to be a fast, accessible trail.
