It was a fast field - good for experienced runners, not best one for slower runners as very quiet at the end of the run

It was okay. The marshalls were really nice but the course wasn’t great, especially with the 10k and half being run at the same time on the same course. The HM route involves three loops, none of which was properly explained beforehand. I couldn’t see any map showing this either. When you got back to the start marshalls were shouting to runners asking which loop they were on - and as there were 10kers and HMers coming past at the same time on different laps it inevitably led to confusion. The route was ok but I’m not sure I’d have entered if I knew it was loops of the same course - always a bit mentally harder than an out and back course.

Overall I enjoyed the event. I don't like lapped events and I don't think this was clear when I booked. The marshalls were good and supportive. The lack of the support generally on the course made it tough for us 2hr + runners. Good flat course but I'm glad it was not the overall aim of my training.

Very expensive for a route shared with cars bikes other races etc. Also very loopy. Seemed bit disorganised at the start. People were very friendly though and no major issues. The paper cups are good as much better than plastic bottle waste.

I'm not a fast runner, but neither am I the slowest. I completed in 2 ½ hrs. This was my first HM. The lack of info and the provision of incorrect info (how on earth are you classing that as 2 laps? It was 4) was frustrating but most frustrating was on my 4th lap the drinks station had already been deserted. The course was a lot of running up streets of houses. I won't be doing it again.

Overall, enjoyed the run. A lapped course on a half marathon is never going to be a preference but I found there were enough Marshalls and signs to keep me on track.Weather was a bit poor so the muddy parts of the route weren't great, but they were brief and is is November...Some moaning on here about no warm-up but Covid was to blame for that. They begged someone to step up but no one did so I don't think that is their fault. Take charge of your own warm-up...Overall, it went smoothly for me and I enjoyed it!
