Soak up your surroundings as you travel from Caldbeck, on the northern edge of the Lakes, to Cartmel, in the south. Your route will take in the summits of Blencathra, Helvellyn and Fairfield before descending to Ambleside and following the western shore of Windermere.

Cark and Grange Over Sands Railway stations are only 3 miles from Cartmel. A taxi would be around £15. We suggest you book as they are only small railway stations.
