Route information
All three courses remain unchanged from previous years. After starting in the centre of the town, the 10k begins with a gentle climb for the first 3km. This is followed by a short descent and then the rest of the course is flat. Approximately 7km is on the road, with the remainder of the run taking place on footpaths in beautiful surrounding countryside and along the tow path of the Kennet and Avon Canal.
The two junior races for under 16s will take place on closed roads in the town centre.

The start line is a short distance from Newbury train station.
Parking
There is plenty of parking within half a mile of the start. Please park in one of the public car parks identified on the site and facilities map in your race pack, not on the course route or at race HQ. Please note that there are parking charges in most Newbury car parks. For more information please see here.

Headphones
For the safety of yourself and the others runners, you are not permitted to wear headphones at this event.
Charity
Profits from this race will be split between Newbury AC and Berkshire Youth. Berkshire Youth works with more than 12,000 young people each year, supporting them with their transition from childhood to young adulthood through affordable and engaging leisure activities, helping them to grow and reach their full potential and make a positive contribution to their communities.

Race Packs
Race packs will be dispatched to arrive a week before the race. If you have received your race number, you do not need to register on arrival. Anyone entering after Thursday 11th May will need to collect their pack on the day from the race HQ which will open at 8.30am.
Cut-off time
There will be a cut off time of 1 hour 40 minutes in the 10k, after which time competitors will be on the course at their own risk without support from marshals and timekeepers.
Wheelchairs and pushchairs
Unfortunately, the 10k course is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs due to some narrow sections and uneven ground. Runners cannot be accompanied by dogs.
Changing and bag drop
Competitors are encouraged to arrive changed, but there will be limited changing facilities at the race HQ, where you can also leave your bag. The organiser will provide you with a numbered bag tag on the day. Bags are left at your own risk.
Toilets
Please use the facilities provided and respect the local residents. Free toilets will be available from 8:30am until noon, including at the race HQ. See your race pack for more details.

When should I arrive at the Newbury 10k?
You should arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the race to allow time to register and warm up.
Can I wear headphones at the Newbury 10k?
Headphones are not permitted at this event.
How old must I be to take part in the Newbury 10k?
This race is open to anyone over the age of 16. There are two kids races before the 10k for those younger who would like to take part.
