You don't need to be an experienced runner to absorb this amazing atmosphere, just come and take part to receive your finishers medal.

Route information

This popular event returns to RunThrough in 2025. Join us for a flat and fast 5k, 10k & HM course in Newbury with great PB potential.
Each kilometre is accurately marked out with signposts and we have a great team of helpers to encourage you on your way to the finish line! The route is a looped course, with 1 lap for the 5k, 2 laps for the 10k & 4 laps plus a mini lap for the half marathon.

  • 5k - 1 lap
There will be plenty of distance markers and marshals to help you keep track and encouraged on your way round.

By Public Transport
Newbury Racecourse has its very own train station aptly named "Newbury Racecourse Station" located just one stop down from Newbury Station. With direct trains from London Paddington and regular connections from the West, travel should be straightforward.
By Car
The racecourse is clearly signposted and just minutes from Junctions 12 and 13 of the M4. It is also easily accessible from the M3.
By Bicycle/ Foot
The racecourse is also easily accessible by foot and bicycle, and plenty of space to park your bike.

Event day logistics

10:00 Half Marathon starts
11:00 5k & 10k start
13:00 Event finishes
*Please arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the race to allow enough time to register, set up your transition area and warm-up.
Race Packs
Race Packs must be collected on the day of the event, before the start of your race, from registration. Please be aware that you will not receive anything in the post.
Bag Drop
There will be a secure area where bags can be left, though it is recommended that you bring as little baggage as possible. Your bag tag is attached to your race number which you can tear off and attach to your bag.
Age Requirements
Runners for the 5k must be aged 11 or over, runners for the 10k must be aged 15 or over and half marathon runners must be aged 17 or over.
Water/Aid Stations
There will be water provided on every lap of the course. 5k runners will pass the water station 1 time, 10k runners 2 times & half marathon runners 4 times.
Headphones
It is not recommended that you wear headphones during the race so you stay alert to what is going on around you and hear the encouragement from marshals. There will also be pedestrians on the paths you'll be running who you'll need to be aware of.
Race Results
Your race timings will be published on the RunThrough results page after the race.
Parking
Parking available on-site. Train station located right next to racecourse so runners encouraged to take public transport where possible
