Route Zero - Glasgow (August 2026)

Route Zero is a navigation-based running event where there is no set course, no GPS, and no way of knowing where you’re starting until you arrive.

Participants meet at a central location before handing over their phones and GPS watches, which are sealed in a bag and kept on them throughout the race. Everyone is then blindfolded and transported by bus to a non-disclosed start point approximately 15km from the finish.

Once the blindfolds come off, the race begins.

The objective is simple: get back to the finish line before anyone else.

There are no course markings, no directions, and no predefined route. Every runner is free to choose their own way back, whether that’s following the most direct line, taking a calculated risk, or working out an entirely different route through the city.

The exact distance covered will vary depending on the decisions you make. Some runners will take the shortest route available, while others may cover significantly more ground as they navigate their way back.

Every participant is fitted with a live tracker, allowing friends, family, and spectators to follow the race in real time and watch the different routes unfold across the city.

Route Zero combines running, navigation, strategy, and decision-making into a race where the fastest runner doesn’t always win. The challenge isn’t just how fast you can run, but how well you can work out where you are and how quickly you can get back.
