The triathlon celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2015, and has stood the test of time with its quality delivery, stunning location and great event village.

CAN I WEAR A NUMBER BELT?

Yes, but your number must be clearly visible at all times otherwise you may be subjected to a two-minute penalty as per British Triathlon Rules. You mustn’t fold or cut down your race number in any way. Do write any medical information on the back of your number.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A WETSUIT?

We do say that wetsuits in fact help with buoyancy and warmth, so we strongly recommend that you wear one if they are optional. We will keep you updated with water temperature as we get closer to the event.

FAQs

HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM IN THE RACE?

When you enter through our online system, you will receive an acknowledgement email confirming your entry. You will receive email updates and a link to the race information as race day approaches. Please make sure the details we have for you are correct.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE REGISTER FOR ME?

For our one day events, you have to register yourself in person, and you must show some form of photo identification when you register. However, for the Windsor Triathlon, you must register the day before the race. On this occasion, we allow someone else to register for you, but they must bring a signed letter of authority from you and they must show your race licence (if you have one) and your ID. Your friend must also bring your cycle helmet for checking and your bike for racking.

CAN I WEAR MY RACE NUMBERS UNDERNEATH MY WETSUIT?

Yes. The race numbers we supply really are waterproof and tearproof. Take care when you put your wetsuit on over the numbers ~ ask a friend to help you. When you take your wetsuit off, your numbers should remain intact, provided you have pinned them securely in all four corners.

DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF TRIATHLON ENGLAND, TRIATHLON SCOTLAND OR THE WELSH TRIATHLON ASSOCIATION?

No. If you are not a member of the sport’s governing body, you must bring some form of photo ID with you and you will be required to pay a day membership fee at registration. You are recommended to familiarise yourself with British Triathlon’s rules and regulations that will be applied to this race, otherwise you may be penalised for breaking any rule. See British Triathlon’s Website for more information on rules, membership and much, much more. For further information phone British Triathlon on 01509 226161.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY RACE NUMBERS?

For most of our events, you will only receive your race numbers when you come to registration. We generally do NOT post out race numbers. There are a few exceptions, such as our running and cycling events, where we do post out numbers.

WHAT IS THE ENTRY PROCESS?

The system is built around setting up an entrant profile. You will be prompted to enter your email address and a password at the start of the process. The system will then store your details for future purchases.

WHAT TYPE OF BIKE IS PERMITTED FOR A SPORTIVE?

The following cycles are permitted in the Human Race Sportive Series:

  • Road bikes
  • Single-speed (both fixed and freewheel) bicycles are permitted provided they have fully functioning brakes
  • Hybrid and Cyclocross bikes
  • Mountain bikes are allowed – however we do advise that you fit slick tyres to them to help you save energy
  • Folding bicycles
  • Handcycles
  • Recumbents
  • Tandem bikes – if you are planning to ride a tandem, you do need two entries as there are two of you riding
  • Electric bikes (remember, a sportive is not a race!)

The following are not permitted in the Human Race Sportive Series:

  • Fixed wheel with no brakes
  • Fixed wheel with only a front brake
  • Any bicycle with only one brake
  • Penny Farthings
  • Quadcycles

  • Handlebars without bar-end plugs are not permitted

Did the Olympic Triathlon in 2019

Overall a great triathlon. A fair walk to the start (800m) Fantastic swim in the Thames, transitions feel quite long but very straight forward. Feel a long way to exit T1 when I’m running shoes.

Cycle is on opens roads so have to be very cautious, sometimes it can get frustrating when you get stuck behind traffic as not much space to over take.

Great (but hilly) run around Windsor to finish. Lots of people spectating and cheering on.

This was my first tri and I absolutely loved it. Some of my friends unfortunately were held up on the bike course due to traffic which is a bit annoying. Running through Windsor and along the 'Long Walk' was pretty spectacular.

Really good set up with decent swim in Thames. Quite a current so swimming upstream was a challenge. Bike course on open road so usual fights with traffic and a few uncertain directions, particularly on the junction of Olympic 2nd lap. A bit unclear through town towards end as well with Marshall’s not being clear (perhaps more concerned about the rain). Run was lovely, 3 easy laps with plenty of crowds. A little narrow in places so overtaking was difficult until you got on to the open space. All in all a great day, Triathlon village was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be back for more next year.

Great event. Would do again. Well organised.
My only feedback was the run course was hilly & could be improved!
  • Did the Olympic Triathlon in 2019

It was my first triathlon and absolutely loved it. Registration on the Saturday was easy and there was ample signage. Throughout race-day morning there was a loudspeaker in transition letting you know when you should head down to the swim start (about 10min walk from transition), which was very helpful. The support squad along the run were fantastic in cheering everyone along too.

I didn't have to go but the queues to the toilets always looked quite long. The only other slightly annoying thing was that the run was a bit narrow at the top of the castle, so you kept having to weave in and out of people.

Other than that, I thought it was great.

Good event. Well organised. Get there early as very busy. Parking is fine but again get there early as queues in the morning.
  • Did the Sprint Triathlon in 2018

Did this with a bunch of my best mates and had a great day out. Great course and awesome to finish in beautiful Windsor
  • Did the Sprint Triathlon in 2018

My favourite triathlon so far. Awesome course - the best bit has to be the bike descent into Windsor - and really great atmosphere
