Route information
Starting and finishing in Anthorn, this fast and flat rural route will take runners along the roads of North West Cumbria. Runners will take on 2 laps of country lanes through Bowness-on-Solway, and returning to Anthorn via the coastal roads to complete the marathon, and just 1 loop for half marathon runners.

Did the race in 2022
It was my first marathon ever and a second organised run. I was very pleased I came here. It was beautiful place, I could run not only with a nice company of other runners and people watching, but also caws and sheep :) I couldn't feel more relaxed to do my PR! It is a great place for someone who wants to run but not necessarily in a crowded atmosphere. THANK YOU!!!

There wasn't enough info about where to register. There were no signs to tell you where to go. People didn't know where the start or finish were. The start line was set up just 10 mins prior to the start. I got given a half marathon medal but I did the full marathon! I wasn't happy with that. The marshalls were nice, but when I got to the water stations second time round, no-one was there at three of them. I had to stop to pour my own water so it messed up my time.

I was disappointed that after running a full marathon the medal says half marathon. Also the water stations on lap 2 were empty or nobody was there to give water which was dangerous and frustrating
