So easy to register, and to sign in on the day. Great atmosphere for a small race - really appreciated the team members cheering us on along the route. That hill though..!

I actually meant to do the half marathon, but I opted for the 10k finish mid race because I wasn't enjoying it. The route goes through a lot of roads with cars on. Some of the roads are marshalled with the cars stopping, but others you have to either wait for cars or speed up to try and cross the road before they get there. At one point a bus pulled out in front of me and I had to wait. A runner behind me shouted at the fact I'd let it go down the road. Not a safe race for speedy running. The route is okay, a lot of residential streets.

All in all I enjoyed the run. The weather was not great and there were a few organisational issues though. Half way through the race I went straight instead of taking a left. Signage was poor and there was no Marshall. After about 5 mins of running I realised I was on the wrong track and went back. This added at least 10 mins onto my time and caused a lot of frustration.

I really enjoyed the race was a bit disappointed that the course according to garmin and strava was a little short - which meant i didnt get a half marathon time. Other than the above issue really enjoyed event.

It was raining on arrival know where to stand that was covered over and dry so we were freezing before we started. Bag drop was awful it was a plastic sheet on the ground so my dry jumper for after was soaked my bag is ruined.....I was driven into by a car on the high street I fell nto the road!!!!!! People were annoyed that we were running along the high street which was awful people didn't move cars didn't give way it was actually horrible...The Marshall's were great....The course stated it was flat!!!!! There was a big hill that we had to do twice I've run many a half and full marathon and your course details I felt were not accurate....There was no one to hand out or show you drinks at the finish line it was sad really ...I did this to raise money for a child I care for with Battens disease I trained hard and I found this very disappointing..I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.Sorry

I expected it to be chilly, but the weather conditions were atrocious, with rain, whipping wind and icy cold dialing down the turnout to about 400. It improved as the race went on but the damage had already been done, and I was running in too many layers of damp clothes. I'd keep an eye on the forecast at this time of the year and adjust your arrival accordingly. We got there too early for what wasn't a very crowded registration desk and had to huddle under a tent for too long.None of this is the organisers' fault, of course! But one area they could improve on is getting the race length right! I'd read a review that suggested the half-marathon was 300 metres short, and so it turned out to be. Not sure why they couldn't have added a loop on; I'd have felt better about my PB!The double loop is a tough one, with an irregular climb to the end to compensate for the long drop at the beginning. It knocked the stuffing out of me after a too-fast first loop egged on by the pace of the 10k runners.

The rain and cold was a bit horrible and unexpected which wrecked the mood but organizers did a good job! Bags could have been better looked after as all of my things were soaked.
