very poor foresight: not enough water, on a day forecast to hit 18C.

Water station were inadequate- the temperature was known to be high yet water stations ran out- this is completely unacceptable. Especially when I was advised this happened at last years race as well, I spoke with the Chief Marshall who advised there was plenty of water so didn’t understand why stations had run out. I will not be running this again or recommending it to anyone else

Lovely seafront run and gorgeous castle grounds as the HQ. All well equipped and organised. Nice flat course for the most part so good for a PB too.

I liked the previous route better when it started & finished in Herne Bay

It is a nice route apart from having to tackle the crowds in Herne Bay on a very narrow path that nearly resulted in serious injury to myself and a small boy. There were lots of very nice marshals stood in the sweltering heat. Unfortunately, there was no shade on what turned out to be a seriously hot 28 degree day and only one water station. Knowing this in advance, we took water for the start and complained to the organisers who claimed it was due to covid rules. It wasn't because it states that there should be a least one on a course over 10k and having only one meant everyone on the course visited that one rather than spreading people out. We ended up filling up at the beach taps on the way out but the route back was not on the beach so no taps and 6.5 miles to go in the mid day heat. There were at least 5 people collapsed on route and worst of all was that there was no water at the finish and no bag drop so you couldn't even have left one there for yourself at the end. Very dangerous in the conditions and I would not run this race again.

Very hot day and only 1 water station, no water at the end either. I asked but was refused by the marshal as the tags are cut off. Lovely route one nasty hill.

it was the hottest day of the year (27 degrees) and there was only one water station on the course — it’s dangerous and irresponsible from the event organisers

The marshals were amazing, but the race organisers decided to only put on one water station and it was 29 degrees. It was dangerous in that heat and no water even at the finish. After informing them after the event I hope this can never happen again. The route is gorgeous, the people lovely, just poor dangerous planning mistakes.

This had the potential to be a great event but lack of water stations on such a brutally hot, cloudless day was irresponsible and there can be no excuses for this, COVID or no COVID. Also receiving your medal in your race pack before you've even run the race was a first for me and made the finish a massive anticlimax, along with no water at the finish it made this a non-event for me. Marshalls were excellent and race pack collection was easy but that is about it.

It was well organised and the atmosphere was brilliant. Thank you to all the stewards/volunteers who gave up their time and gave us all kind encouragement. Signing up for next year!
