Route information
This is a lapped 10k route, with Half Marathon participants completing it just over two times.
The event will start and finish from nearby Penkridge Road Car Park and track across the mixed terrain trails within this scenic woodland.
The route should be quiet with no vehicle traffic, although there will be other forest users and bicycles crossing the routes, so runners should be alert to other users.

Race HQ and the start line are located just off Penkridge Bank Road, within Cannock Chase. The race is best accessed by car and there will be parking on site at Takeroo. Please follow signs to the designated carpark.
Please note that the race HQ is not located at the Main Go Ape Visitor Centre.
By Train
The closest train station to Cannock Chase Forest is Rugeley Town, which is located at 2.7 miles away. If you are travelling by train, and travel light, you could jog to the start line to warm up.

10:00 10k & Half Marathon races start
Participants are advised to arrive at least 45 minutes before the race start time in order to drop your bag, register, and have a good warm up.
Race Packs
Entrants who have entered in good time will have their race packs sent in the post 10 days before event day.
Those who have entered in the 10 days before race day will collect their race pack at registration on the day of the event.
If your race pack hasn’t arrived, head to the registration desk at race HQ and you can be issued with a new one.
A full set of race instructions will be sent via email before the event.
Age Requirements
- 10k: Runners must be aged 15 or older
- Half Marathon: Runners must be aged 17 or older

Yes, you can enter on the day of the event if there are spaces available. Please note that the price to enter will be £2 more expensive than a standard entry ticket.
