Good challenging undulating trail course in the wide open spaces of Cannock Chase. After days of heavy rain trail shoes are a must

The course was excellent I'm a trail runner and these were real trails with fantastic climbs. This is how trail courses should be.

Fantastic organisation and good value for money. A very friendly atmosphere. This was my first ever trail race and I found the course very challenging, although some of this was down to the soggy ground conditions! Would recommend to others and I may be back in the future to have another go!

Great course for those who prefer a good fresh air run. Good mix of encouraging marshalls and course direction signs which were easy to follow. Bit busy at the run start, maybe a need for staggered starts perhaps 2-3 min gaps (as you get a chip time) to enable better flow? Overall a good event which would recommend for those looking to run a 10k.

The 10K was enjoyable based upon it being hilly & muddy with stretches of water, trail run. Thank you to all volunteers for keeping it safe.

Great volunteers, challenging course wouldn't advise anyone if choosing a first race. Set my watch as soon as I hit the start line and when finished it clocked 11k so not sure the route was as accurate as 10k. I would be interested in doing it again though as I now know what to expect

I have done multiple 10k races before this one, but this is by far the hardest. The hills were extremely steep both uphill and downhill, and the constant uphill nature made it extremely difficult to continue. I won't be taking part again due to the uphills ruining my motivation, however it would be a good race if you really wanted to challenge yourself. I think the organisers need to make it clearer on advertising that this is a very difficult course.

This course sounds amazing but a few people have called out the climbs - how hard is it? Anyone know the total elevation?

Elevations are just over 1300ft, it’s an amazing course and if your a beast you don’t have to stop for any of the climbs 😉

Haha, agreed... I had to stop for breath a couple times 😂 the 10km route was 670ft and was made tougher by the mud. Hopefully a dry one this time around

Nice one thanks Paul! Not sure I can call myself a beast, but I'll give it a go!

Oh man; steep climbs + mud sounds hard! Thanks both of the tips
