Route description
Route description

Heading out from the shadow of the Spitfire in Hangar One, the 10k route takes runners on a loop around an iconic course.

Runners will be taken around the Museum site and past iconic aircrafts including the VC10, Hercules, and Britannia. To complete this undulating course, runners will take to the airfield at RAF Cosford to sprint down the runway and cross that finish-line.

Just a great 10k supporting a great cause. A buzz about it as you know it’s a PB event. Hope to get in next year

This is the first time I have done this event, I will be back. Course can be challenging as there is really no excuse to ease off. No hard hill climbs no kerb stones and best of all no traffic. Great event good cause. Thank you., regards, Fred.

Excellent event, well organized and really friendly. Nice even course with happy, encouraging marshalls. The medal is superb - probably the best one I've ever received. Added bonus of staying on after to enjoy the museum. Well done to everyone involved.

Luckily good weather and a truly fab. day with a great crowd of supporters adding to the atmosphere, considering the turnout a big 'well done' to the organisers/marshalls. Q? In future can the medal giving at the finish line be pushed back? from a sprint finish to a dead stop is quite hard.

Much more than a race, brilliant organisation and whilst it's not stunning scenery it is very interesting, probably unique, running up and down the runway. Fantastic atmosphere and support and so friendly. Year on year one of the best medals and great shirt. When you have finished your race the museum is free with great amenities including gift shop and cafe. Love it
Lovely organised run. The only thing that possibly needs a bit of organising is the water station as it got very bottle necked for the runners, given that there were people still running their first half and the faster runners starting to make their way back through this section. Maybe it could be at a wider point and just have it on the one side. If a second station for returning runners is deemed necessary maybe stagger the stations?

Really enjoyable experience, awesome venue, great medal but could do with more rubbish bins on the course though especially when there was an announcement not to leave litter

Please sort the water station out! This is my third year of spitfire 10k and it hasn’t improved. Bins are needed as you just end up throwing the plastic cup on the floor, even though we’re told no littering in the race briefing.
The event would be perfect if you would just sort this one issue.

One amazing race with the best medal bar none. Great venue easy to reach plenty of free parking. Excellent organisation. Good course and marshaling. Really good chip timing results available instantly with excellent background stats. Great official photos... I even bought mine!
The bonus is free entry to the RAF. Museum too.

I love this 10k but I would recommend next year stagger the start. As you leave the start line & go up & round it is extremely crammed. This year worst than last!! Or do the extra out on the field??

Flat course, unique opportunity to run on an airfield and the RAF Museum is a post race bonus . If you like medals you won't be disappointed. Struck me as a not so serious event so great for newer runners, marshals very supportive

Great event and venue for a worthy cause. Well organised, efficient results turn around and UKA recognised course. Nice to run and visit with family to stroll around museum afterwards. Although course is flat, as with most airfields it’s often exposed to the wind which can mean it’s not necessarily a PB course. Will be back next year to attempt London/Cosford double.

Firstly having to cue before the race for pre-purchased T-shirts was not ideal, we had to get there extra early in order to allow time for this, which had we known, we would not have purchased them.
Not the most organised of parking, had to que for a long time for this as well.
We got to the start at the advised 9.45 however it did not start until 10.10, so we were waiting 25 mins to start, so warm up exercises were pointless and therefore more chance of injury. During the race briefing, I could not hear anything that was said as it was so muffled and noisy. I was not the only one who had trouble hearing what was being said.
I am a novice / slow runner and found the course de-motivating as it wound round and you could see how far you had to go - perhaps this is just from my point of view. Its not a race I plan to do again. Great medal though - probably one of the best I have although not enough to make me do it again, too much hassle and waiting.
