This is an exceptionally flat and fast course through the town centre and surrounding countryside. The route takes runners past landmarks such as York Minister, the University of York, and Stamford Bridge.

Marathon Shuttle Bus
There will be a regular Marathon Shuttle Bus operating on race day between York Station and the event village, beginning at 7am, departing every few minutes. A single ticket will cost £3 (£4 return) - these can be bought on the day.
By Train
York Station is easily accessible from all over the UK. London is a couple of hours away, while direct services are available from the South West, Liverpool, Manchester and more
By Car
The city has convenient links nationwide, via the M1, M62 & A1. Park and ride schemes will be available for those who opt to drive to the event.
By Air
Leed Bradford Airport is the most convenient, just under an hour's drive away. Alternatively you can catch a direct bus to Leeds, where regular trains are available to York. Manchester and Humberside Airports are also nearby options.
By Seat
Travel from as far away as Belgium and the Netherlands is possible thanks to ferry services arriving at Hull.

Age Requirements
All entrants must be 18 and older to enter the Marathon.
Race Packs
Race packs including race numbers will be posted to entrants approximately 7 to 10 days before race day. If you register the same week as the event you must collect you race pack from the race office on event weekend.
Those travelling from abroad will also need to pick their pack up from the race office on event weekend.

FAQs

Can I wear headphones at The Yorkshire Marathon?
Yes, you can wear headphones but for your own safety please pay extra attention to direction from race marshals and event staff.
Are there drinks stations along the route at The Yorkshire Marathon?
Yes, water and isotonic drinks will be available both on the course and also at the finish area.
Can I run in fancy dress at The Yorkshire Marathon?
Yes! The day is all about having fun and raising money for charity. Please do keep it clean, though, and ensure the outfit can not be deemed offensive or dangerous to other runners or spectators.
