Tour of Tameside

The Tour of Tameside is a four day festival of running that explores the best the area of Tameside has to offer. Runners will take part in 4 races over 4 consecutive days, and will experience a cracking variety of routes and terrain.

All the races will be challenging but accessible to runners of all abilities. The original tour was founded by Marathon legend Dr Ron Hill MBE in 1981, and the event became extremely popular and still is today.

The route will take in a variety of terrain as the route heads through two brilliant local country parks. The Daisy Nook and Park Bridge Country Parks will provide a fun, but challenging test for all runners taking part. The route will allow runners to enjoy the stunning local landscape during the exciting challenge.

This 6 mile run is considered the most iconic run of the 4. The route itself takes place on closed roads and takes in the best of the local scenery. The route starts out fairly easily for the first mile but don't get too comfortable, there are some challenging hills later in the run!

The Hero Half Marathon. Runners embark on a 13.1 mile journey which includes running along the Longdendale Trail which is ideal for achieving a PB time, if your legs have survived the Fell!

This epic 7 mile race takes runners in and around the city of Hyde. The entire event is perfect for new and experienced runners alike, as the course follows roads and tarmac paths.
