Christmas isn’t over just yet. Join us for one last big race day of the year at Kelvingrove Park.
Our Christmas Cracker is back, and it’s always one of our favourite events on the Up and Running Events calendar. Taking place right between Christmas and New Year, it’s the perfect opportunity to get out of the house, bring everyone together and finish the year with a brilliant day of running.
Set in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, Kelvingrove Park provides a fantastic backdrop for our festive celebrations. With beautiful tree-lined paths, the River Kelvin winding through the park and the magnificent Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum overlooking the course, there aren’t many better places to enjoy a winter race day.
Whether you’re looking to squeeze in one final PB before the year ends, work off some of the Christmas indulgence or simply enjoy a run with friends and family, this is an event for everyone.
And we want to see plenty of Christmas spirit. Santa hats, Christmas jumpers, festive fancy dress and anything else you can think of are all encouraged. Expect Christmas music, festive touches around the course and plenty of seasonal atmosphere throughout the day.
With races for runners of all ages and abilities, it’s also a brilliant opportunity to get the whole family involved during the Christmas holidays. Bring the kids, invite your friends and make a day of it in Glasgow’s West End.
As always, expect chip timing, friendly marshals, free race photography, post-race goodies and a special Christmas Cracker finisher medal to round off your year.

Route information
The Kelvingrove Christmas Cracker follows a scenic 2.5km loop through the heart of Kelvingrove Park, taking runners past some of Glasgow’s most recognisable landmarks in the beautiful West End.
The route makes the most of the entire park, winding along tree-lined paths, past the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the famous Stewart Memorial Fountain and alongside the River Kelvin. With plenty of changing scenery throughout, it’s a fantastic way to experience one of Glasgow’s most popular parks during the festive season.
The course combines smooth, flowing paths with gentle rolling inclines, offering an enjoyable challenge for runners of all abilities. Whether you’re chasing one final personal best of the year or enjoying a festive run with friends and family, there’s plenty to enjoy along the way.
The 5K completes two laps, while the 10K completes four laps of the course.
The route will be fully marked with kilometre markers, directional arrows and friendly marshals throughout, with plenty of festive encouragement along the way.
Runners completing multiple laps will be responsible for keeping track of their own lap count.

Race Day Logistics
Join us for a festive morning of running at Kelvingrove Park, with our 5K, 10K, Kids Race and Toddler Dash bringing the whole family together between Christmas and New Year.
Race Start Times
* 8:30am: Registration and bag drop opens
* 10:00am: 5K & 10K start
* 11:45am: Toddler Dash starts
* 12:00pm: Kids Race starts
Registration & Race Numbers
Registration will open at 8:30am beside the race start area in Kelvingrove Park. All runners must collect their race numbers from the registration desk before taking part.
We recommend arriving in plenty of time to collect your race number and prepare for your race.
Bag Drop
A bag drop facility will be available from 8:30am, located beside the race start area.
Kids Race & Toddler Dash
Our younger runners will take centre stage after the 5K and 10K, with the Toddler Dash starting at 11:45am, followed by the Kids Race at 12:00pm.
Age Requirements
There are no minimum age requirements listed for this event.
Finish Line
Every finisher will receive a festive Christmas Cracker medal and post-race goodies to celebrate their achievement.
Race Photography
Free race photography will be available after the event, capturing runners throughout the course and at the finish line.
Full race-day information, including course maps and arrival instructions, will be emailed to all participants ahead of race day.
