EPIC Series is the next generation of obstacle course racing that combines functional cross-training, Strongman, and traditional obstacle course racing elements into the most EPIC course on the planet. Epic Series – San Diego route

The Epic Course:

This course is approximately 1.5 miles long and packed tight with over 25 back-to-back obstacle challenges. Each station has Beginner (green), Intermediate (blue), and Advanced (black) options to pick from, so you can choose your challenge at every turn.

Competitive Waves – Men must do all Advanced obstacles; Women must do at least Intermediate obstacles. This course is timed.
Eligible for Podium Prizes.

Open Waves – Athletes of all ability levels may choose any level obstacle to complete at any time with no penalty. This course is timed.

What time does the event start?

The first wave is released at 8am sharp.

Is there a Bag Check?

Yes! We provide FREE bag check! Details on the location of bag check will be listed in each event’s information page, or you can find out more information at the Registration Tent on race day.

What time is the Awards Ceremony?

The Awards Ceremony will take place shortly after the last ELITE Course competitor has completed their run through the ELITE Course. This usually takes place around 1pm, but could be earlier or later depending on how many ELITE Course competitors sign u for an event.

You will be completing a variety of strength based and cardio based events so please try to wear gear that gives you the versatility to complete in a range of activities.

Spectators

BRING YOUR OWN CHEER SQUAD!

Spectators are FREE! Bring your very own cheer squad with you and celebrate with them at the post-race party after you’ve achieved EPIC glory! Who knows, maybe you will watch your family and friends defeat our EPIC course and you will want to as well! We encourage Day of sign-ups and welcome you to be Epic too!

EPIC Series is extremely spectator-friendly. Your squad can stand on the sidelines just outside the perimeter of the course and watch you demolish every single EPIC obstacle in your path!

Photos and videos welcome as long as they are taken from the spectator area outside the course. For the safety of our athletes, no drones will be allowed to fly over the course.

Founded in 2014, EPIC Series is a hybrid obstacle course race (OCR) unlike any other existing course in the World . Epic combines elements of cross-training, strongman, and traditional obstacle course racing, without the mud or long-distance running. By creating obstacles that have Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced options, EPIC Series opens up obstacle course racing to a wider audience of fitness enthusiasts. We’ve also incorporated a family-friendly event, a Kids Course that mimics a kid-sized version of the obstacles and strength challenges seen in the adult courses.
