Statesman Cap10K route

The race kicks-off from Congress Avenue Bridge and meanders through the towering concrete jungle of downtown Austin before arriving at the thriving Finish Line Festival.

Since the race inauguration in 1978 - when there were only 3,400 runners - the event has grown to become the 6th largest race in the entire country, attracting over 20,000 athletes.

What’s Included
  • Every participant receives a sporty new tech fabric race shirt from Always Advancing
  • Participants can choose from traditional Men’s Crew Neck or Women’s V-neck style race shirt.
  • Participants can personalize race bib with custom name, slogan, team or hash tag.
  • Timing B-Tag records 5K, Finish and King/Queen of the Hill split times (times IM’d or emailed to your or family & friends during race).
  • Create or join a Corporate, Nonprofit Org., Social, School or Military + First Responder team.
  • Every Finisher will receive a limited edition 2020 Finishers’ Medal* after crossing the finish line.
  • Entry into the Finish Line Festival with CapKids Zone, outdoor Expo and Food Truck food court.A free sports massage*.
  • Cap10K Cooldown Corner, featuring bloody marys, beer and breakfast tacos (Age 21 and over admitted)*.
  • Live performances from local artist on the Festival’s main stage.
  • (*Finishers’ medals are only available to participants who cross the race finish line, finishers’ medals not guaranteed as part of registration. Massage opportunities are limited quantity, first come first served and not guaranteed)

Every spring since 1978, the starting horn has sounded for the Cap10K – Texas’ largest 10K and the seventh largest in the nation. Last year, more than 21,300 participants took on the 6.2 mile rolling course through scenic downtown and West Austin.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the options for packet collection?
The Statesman Cap10K Health and Fitness Expo will take place on both Friday April 3 and Saturday April 4. Packets can be collected from here between 12pm & 7pm on Friday or 10am & 5pm on Saturday. The expo will take place at The Palmer Events Center, Exhibit Hall 2.
Where can I park on the morning of the race?
The event organiser's recommend that runners book their parking in advance, using the app SpotHero. This can be downloaded on apple and android.
How do I know which corral to start in?
