Did the race in 2023
It was lovely to have a guide for the trail run as we got to discover a route we’d never have been able to do on our own. However, there was too much stop-starting and history lessons in the first 4-5k. It took over an hour to do 5k - partly because it was so muddy and we had to do a lot of careful walking / mincing to avoid slipping over - but mainly because the guide kept telling us things. That would have been great on a walk, and a little bit was nice, but I also just wanted to get on and run.Maybe it just wasn’t what I was expecting
