This 10k route takes in the trails and hills surrounding the charming town of Berkhamstead, nestled within the Chiltern Hills. Get ready to experience spectacular views of the Hertfordshire countryside.
Runners will explore the woods and paths of the area, with the natural terrain route providing the perfect opportunity to learn new trail running techniques whilst reinforcing any current ability.
Everyone will run their race in teams, creating a great atmosphere when tackling this 10k course. The team environment is sure to give you that boost of motivation with you need it most.
Your running guide will take you on a tour of the grounds, across the pathways, giving trail running tips and explaining some fun local historical facts along the way.

There will be free parking on-site.
By Train
Berkhamsted station is the closest train station to the start location, situated at a short 4 minute walk away. Those travelling to the event from London can ride the train from London Euston to Berkhamstead, taking around 30 minutes.
Event day logistics

*Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the race to allow plenty of time to park, register and warm up.
Ability Required
Participants will be divided into groups by their ability, however, please note that you need to be able to run 5k non-stop in order to participate.
This is a great event for those new to trail running, as well as veterans. As all with Run the Wild events, runners will be expected to run as part of the team. First-time trail runners welcome.
Toilets
There will be toilets on site.
Clothing
  • Wicking top and shorts / leggings
  • Socks
  • Trail running shoes (sufficient tread)
Accessories
  • Fully Charged Mobile Phone including the number of your Run Leader and - Event Director (charge before use and make sure it's in a waterproof case or bag)
  • Whistle (normally found attached to your bag)
  • Personal first aid kit (eg: blister packs, sunscreen, inhaler etc)
  • Water bottles or bladder (if distance or weather requires it)
  • Snacks (if distance requires it)
  • Lightweight, comfortable running pack, max 12 litres (if distance requires it)
Weather Dependent Items
  • Lightweight waterproof jacket
  • Sun hat / cap
  • Warm hat and gloves
  • Waterproof bags / dry bags
It is highly recommended by the event organiser that you bring these items for your safety.
