Route information
Terrain: Trails
Elevation: 500m (rolling hills)
The marathon route follows undulating chalk hills and local woods on this 26 mile morning adventure in the Chiltern Hills. Participants will be able to run part of the Ridgeway, an ancient trail used for 5,000 years, which encompasses several stunning viewpoints. Unfrequented paths will also make up part of the route, with English Athletics qualified run leaders on hand to offer pointers and guidance.
The region is home to a range of wildlife, from deer to red kites, which runners might spot as they journey through nature reserves. The marathon also includes a stretch through the beautiful Wendover Woods and its forest trails.
Each run will be led by one of the Run Leaders to ensure everyone in the group is comfortable with the pace.
