Route information

This unique event sees out 2023 and celebrates the beginning of 2024 with a selection of races. Choose to run a marathon, half marathon, 10k or 5k on either New Year's Eve or New Year's Day, along the banks of the iconic River Mersey.
Perfect for experienced athletes and novice runners alike, the measured courses offer something for every level of entrant.
Marathon
The marathon route hugs the River Mersey for 3 miles before looping back to the start line. Runners will repeat this loop a further three times.
Half Marathon
Half marathon participants follow the same course, completing the loop twice.
10k and 5k
Entrants in the 10k and 5k will follow the same routes to their dedicated turn points, which will be marshalled and clearly marked.

The race starts at Merseyside Police Club, which lies just off the A561 linking Liverpool and Garston.
There is parking available at the Police Club.
By Public Transport
The nearest train station is at Cressington, located a 16-minute walk away from the race start. Cressington has regular services to both Hunts Cross and Southport.
The 82, 82A and 500 buses run from the centre of Liverpool to Riversdale Road, a short distance from the Police Club.

Age Restrictions
Participants in the 10k should be at least 15 years old or older on race day. Those entering the half marathon or marathon should be 17 years old or older and 18 years old or older respectively.
