Be part of this major sporting event that takes you from the center of Chelmsford out into the Essex countryside before returning to the city to cross the finish line in Central Park. Rise to the challenge and you’ll be helping The J’s Hospice charity to support young adults with life-limiting conditions across Essex.

Entry fee includes a bespoke medal, technical runner shirt, goody bag, refreshments on route and chip timing. The race village will have toilets, baggage, and changing facilities, as well as refreshments. The race is expected to attract over 1,000 participants - so an early entry is advised.

The Chelmsford Marathon route

Join us for a 26.2 mile single lap course on road and tarmac paths starting and finishing in Central Park. A scenic rural route which heads out through the city and then undulates through the nearby countryside and pretty villages of north Essex.

What’s Included

Entry fee includes a bespoke medal, technical runner shirt, goody bag, refreshments on route and chip timing. The race village will have toilets, baggage, and changing facilities, as well as refreshments. The race is expected to attract over 1,000 participants – so an early entry is advised.

Age Restrictions: Only persons aged 18 years or above on race day 21st October 2018 may register and take part in the event.

Is there parking at the event?
Please note that there are no parking facilities and no drop off point at Central Park and you must use one of the City Centre car parks.
Do finishers receive a medal?
All runners will receive a bespoke medal on completion of the race.
Will there be refreshments on course?
There will be at least eight drinks/aid stations throughout the course. Water will also be available at the finish and whilst we will ensure that water stations are well supplied, runners should consider carrying their own water bottles if it is a warm day. Some of the stations will provide sugary drinks and snacks.
