Route information
This is a 7hr Time Challenge event which allows you full control over the distance you want to run. The minimum distance is 5km, which is part of a lap. A full lap is 4.37 miles (7km) and you can run as many or as few of these laps as you wish in the 7hr time limit which starts from the official event start time. It is 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon and 7 or over for an ultra, there is also a 50km distance available.
The course along a beautiful stretch of the River Thames. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required. The course is a mixture with approximately 60% of it on a well-made path / tarmac. The remainder is grass and light trail which can get muddy at certain times of the year. Road shoes can be used all year round but if you prefer the extra grip on the trail sections then trail shoes can be worn.
If you are running the Virtual London Marathon, Saturn can record your London Marathon bib number in our results. You just need to let Saturn know your number before the start date.

I liked the flexible start time for those doing longer distances. But lack of official start time did lose some of the 'race' atmosphere

The course was just not safe with the rains. Organization was great. You do need to offer energy drinks. I was surprised you didn’t have that give this is an endurance run.

The course was not great for the marathon distance. Needed to be longer. Very well organised though by the event people.

The course could be longer on the tow path for the full and half Marathons, however the main thing that would help future events is a sign post at the road for where the event is. Satnav got it wrong for a number of people. Otherwise a friendly event.
