Event summary

Make the most your Sunday morning and soak up the ocean views in races from 5k up to a marathon. With plenty of flat miles along the coast (plus a couple of moderate hills), this race is ideal for new and experienced runners alike. Don't miss the finisher's t-shirt, medal, free beer and tacos.

Route description

Full and Half Marathon

Start at the Emma Wood State Beach Group Campground then run along the bike path onto the Historic Old Rincon Highway along the Ventura Coast line. Enjoy stunning ocean views the whole way as you hit a turn around point at half way.

There are aid stations every 1.5 miles.

The marathon course is two loops of this course

5k and 10k course

This is the same as the marathon course but the turnaround points are at 2.5k and 5k, depending on which race you are doing.

Start / Finish line

Emma Wood Group Campground - just past Emma Wood RV park at 800 W. Main St, Ventura CA 93001 (aka Seaside Wilderness park)

Race pack collection

This is where you collect your race bib/timing chip, goody bag and race swag. Race packs can be collected either on Saturday before the race (12-4pm) or on race day. If you are planning to collect on race day, please come early as there will be hundred of people trying

Spectators

The event is very spectator friendly - best spot is anywhere along the Ventura coastline.

Volunteers

If you would like to volunteer please email [email protected].

Volunteer duties include helping at the water station, finish line and post race expo cleanup.

Race start is at 7 am so you will need to arrive at 5:30 am to get in place for the race start. The event will end at about 12:30 pm.

Please arrive on time and report to the main checkin tent or main statge and ask for Bill Escobar (race director).

Parking

$10 per car per day. Approx 200 spaces available.

There are also free parking spaces in the business park next to Patagonia at 235 W. Santa Clara ST, Ventura CA 9300, which is approx 3/4 mile from race start.

Free Athlete Shuttle

From 5:30am to 2pm there will be a free athlete shuttle located at Promenade park at the corner of Figueroa and Shoreline drive. Promenade park is approx 1.5 miles from the start line.
